Just a note, cohort size is a important factor in determining the results of a school, hence, when comparing results, instead of taking numbers, take percentage.
As a student from River Valley, I would like to clarify that Tan Zhi Xiang, the school’s top student, is the ONLY student in Singapore to have scored distinctions in nine subjects at 13 Academic Units, including distinctions in two H3 subjects and an A1 in Higher Chinese, hence, the title of top scorer belongs to him. He has also received the Gold Medal of Excellence in Physics.
All RV students are required to take conversational malay + third language (if any) hence, students are either tri-lingual or "quad-lingual" and bi-cultural (or better).
8 students obtained 8 distinctions.
23 students obtained 7 distinctions
44 students obtained 6 distinctions
3 students received the Institute of Physics, Singapore Medal
