Impressive, especially since she is equally strong in all subjects.
So what is her preferred choice?[/quote]
she is keen on the more specialized one, I am supporting the holistic ones, hubby prefers normal intakes through PSLE without too much pressure. Anyway, still have a month + to consider and list out all the pros and cons, and because for us mostly are WLs, it depends on the school / MOE / fate to decide :rotflmao:
Most importantly, DD enjoyed the whole journey of DSA, didn’t prepare for the interviews and selection tests, what you see is what you get, the real her
and she even made serval friends during the various DSAs. :grphug:

Oh My Gosh:
Nanyang bilingual
Congrats.DoctorElenor:
Called SNGS yesterday afternoon as well and apparently my snail mail was lost (DD got a CO). Teacher mentioned there were quite a few letters being returned to school due to the missing of details in the address. So if you haven’t received any reply no matter CO/WL/Rejection, you should contact school to find out.
This is the end of our DSA journey, bitter sweet but grateful, 3 WL + 1 CO, thanks to the support of this forum and all the parents here. Wish the kids all the best in the upcoming PSLE! :rahrah:
Which schools did your DD get WLs?
Which domains? Thanks.
Raffles science (interview only)
NUS High
Background: MS neighborhood school, maths science (80,90 range), English Chinese (90 range), some silver and bronze awards in various non-major competitions across all the main subjects, mainly in maths and science. Personally feeling after this long journey: position in prefect committee, CCA, VIA, Friend of Singa, cyber awareness, some volunteering works and social involvement did play a part in getting a fair chance of interview for MS kids, so don’t give up hope, do believe in your child’s abilities.
They will shine one day in some way somehow.
Hope it helps. :salute: -

RE: NUS High School of Mathematics and Science (Diploma)
Thank you, my DD is the one who is worried, I am very happy no matter what outcome, my personal opinion: screening test -> camp -> (interview) alone are very good exposure to our DC, make them clear about what their target will be and which areas can be improved. And DD did mention she enjoyed the camp and the interview, all the teachers-in-charge and seniors are very kind and helpful.

DoctorElenor, based on past year experience, all WL will be convert into CO eventually. So don't worry.

RE: NUS High School of Mathematics and Science (Diploma)
DD received WL, she was a bit sad, guess she had high expectation herself, anyway I am very proud of what she has achieved, to me passing the 1st round seems like a big surprise, considering she is from MS, without any MO or SO training, without any preparation at all
️ Anyway, good luck to all the kids and now let’s focus on the upcoming PSLE. -

RE: NUS High School of Mathematics and Science (Diploma)
A bit less than 100 went for the interview, not sure how many COs will be issued for these 100, depends on how many confirmed direct COs school set aside earlier, anyway the answer will be revealed soon on this Friday.

RE: DSA 2018
For application of leadership DSA, better can be equipped with some other academic or CCA achievements as well for safety purpose.

RE: DSA 2018
DD received interview invitation from NUSH this afternoon. No matter what the outcome will be, big round of applause for all the kids and parents who are trying their best in DSA during the tough preparation period of PSLE. DSA is not a shortcut to the Sec school but the recognition of extra effort and time all the kids and parents put in.
