      Need help with the following question. Thanks in advance.

      The length of a rectangle is 20 m, correct to the nearest metre. If the area of the field is 332m2, correct to the nearest square metre, find the least possible breadth of the field, giving your answer correct to 3 significant figures.

      Area = Length x Breadth

      Breadth = Area / Length

      Breadth to be the least, then Area must be the least and Length the highest.

      So Area = 331.5 m2 and Length = 20.4 m.

      And you can work out the Breadth.

      :thankyou:

      Dan and Ellen started jogging at the same time along the route shown below. Both did not change their speeds throughout. after 35 min, Dan was at the halfway point and Ellen was 300 metres behind. Dan reached the end point 5 min before Ellen. What was the distance of the route?

      38/2 = 19

      19 x 50 = 950

      950 x 100 = 95000

      50/2 = 25

      38 x 3.14 x 25 x 25 =74575

      95000 - 74575 = 20425

      a) The area of footpath not covered by tiles is 20425 sq cm.

      19 - 2 = 17

      17 x 50 x 2 = 1700

      b) The perimeter of the grass patch is 1700 cm.[/quote] :thankyou: Kangkangteo šŸ˜„

      0.9m = 90cm
      Each breadth = 45cm
      4 breadths = 45 x 4 = 180cm
      let the length of block be u.
      Equate the total height of cupboard from both arrangements,
      3u+42=180+u+10
      2u = 148
      u=74

      (a) Gap = 90-74 = 16cm
      (b) Height of cupboard = 74x3+42 = 264 = 2.64m
      Check in arrangement B: 180+10+74 = 264cm

      :thankyou: sushi88!
