MMM:Thank you so much KiasuGrandMaster I!The kids (can only comment for P2 and P3) have 30 mins buddhist lesson every week. It mainly teaches about buddha history, how to be a good person, etc... They have textbooks. Eg. in P1, it's a cartoon illustration about Buddha being a prince from India, etc... as they progress it is more on moral values.
But yes... no one is forced to convert. MBS was my primary school and there are alot of my classmates who are non-buddhist too.
On the other hand, don't expect it to be very buddhist driven in every single thing since the teachers population also consists of people from other religions. I view it as a school that just have buddhist study as an extra that's all. But it's definitely not hard core type.

RE: [Geylang] Primary Schools
ChiefKiasu:
Anyone can comment on the Buddism Cirriculum in Maha Bodhi? number of hours per week and what is taught in the classes? Pls share, tks!Maha Bodhi supports Buddhism as its patron religion, just as Geylang Methodist embraces Christianity as its religion. While the schools will introduce students to their religion, students are never forced to take up the religion. Never are students ever made to switch religions to suit the school. These are the basic tenets of Singapore racial tolerance which the government is particularly serious about enforcing.
Maha Bodhi is a really good school. Many parents out there would love to be in your position right now.
