    • RE: 2015 A Level Results

Both nus and ntu invite students for business scholarship interviews (For ntu, its usually those who will pursue in double degree in biz and act.)

Admissiom wise, ntu invites a levels students with gp grade D and below. For poly students, it depends for both institutions.

My classmate (a levels 2014) scored AABB and got in med too. His BMAT results are outstanding. I think the BMAT plays a large role too

ParkYuni, DS told me that student welfare is No 1 priority in NYJC and many of DS friends have chosen this JC.

    • RE: 2016 JCs COP and posting results

My batch cut off for o levels is 8 points (2012) for both Science and Arts stream. Avg 82 points. Briefly mentioned during A level results day (i could be wrong and inaccurate but thats what i recalled).

VJCs cut off for o levels is 5 points for the same year(2012).

Not trying to compare, vjc is well known to be consistent in producing outstanding a level results every year. But this supports the claim of NYJCโ€™s value-addedness.

Anyhow, in one monthโ€™s time, the next batchโ€™s a levels results would be released soon. Lets just wait and speculate that instead. Cheers

    • RE: 2016 JCs COP and posting results

Hello i am an alumnus from NYJC, graduated and took my a levels in 2014. I scored 5 points for my O levels and placed NYJC (sci) as my first choice simply because of these 2 reasons: school starts as late as 8.30am-8.50am. And secondly, monday is the only uniform day for us - meaning you can wear any other school-related shirts for the rest of the week. We have a lovely campus and the i can assure you that we have one of the greatest principal. He is a sincere leader who looks after his teacher and all of the students. He frequently talks to us during assembly, gives us unwavering support and motivation, so that we will ace our exams. You can also ask the jc1 who just enrolled in nyjc (for couple of weeks) how lovely our principal is. There have been a few ice cream treats and once we claimed the champs title for our sports team, he proclaimed a schools day off. I also witnessed him personally distributing highlighter to the students mugging in the library during the prelim season. So, not only do we have a vibrant school and caring teachers, our principal is definitely one that has a fatherish figure.

I am not really sure about some claims about nyjc being a cheena school. As far as i know, my classmates and i are pretty bad at chinese. Most of us converse in english. And no, we dont have that much prcs here.

As for the results for a levels 2014, i must attest that a great portion of us achieved at least 3h2 distinctions. Cohort's performance wise, we had an average score of 82pts (estimated, unofficial) out of the maximum 90. For me, I took 4h2(science) and scored straight As except GP. And honestly, o level results does not matter much on your a level grades. Its the amount of effort you put in that matters. And one thing for sure is, nyjc has provided me a condusive enviroment to play and study hard.

I think that TJC, AJC, VJC and other jcs also churns out stellar results. But the choice of environement you want to spend in for the next 2 years? Its your call ๐Ÿ™‚

Peace out and congratulations to those who got into their desired jcs. For those who dont, please dont be discouraged. Study hard and youll do well in your As and we'll meet in uni ๐Ÿ™‚

      Cheers
