janet88:Envy you your girl very auto. My son played throughout the year, ended up with poor results, still wanna play during school holiday. Ask him to revise his poor subjects he simply answered me \"I can't be bothered\" :slapshead: I thought I could let go and let him handle his studies but it proved me wrong. I still need to breathe down his neck. What's worse, he is simply addicted to games :stompfeet:
yup...hanging carrots to keep them motivated. breathing space for the whole year of endless madness.
she has worked very hard this year, so she does deserve to have fun this year end holiday. since we do not have a habit of going for holidays, it's food galore.

Your girl is very hardworking. How do you get your girl to revise her weak subjects?

My DS realizes that his addiction affects his studies but he told me he can't control himself :slapshead:
My DS's data plan is tagged to my hubby's line. My hubby got my DS 4gb data plan. Sometimes my DS exceeded that! My hubby told my DS to pay for that. My hubby use this as a carrot to control my DS. He won't work with me on restricting my DS.
Let me search for other thread that talk about this :thankyou:

Your DS should be able to kick off using his phone unnecessarily from the behavior you described. How I wish my DS is like that.
My DS won't go with me if he knows the location is off grid -
RE: Sec 1.parents - how much homework does your child have?
He is indeed addicted. Any suggestion how to impose rules on him. I am really at my wits end. :?: Oh my hubby, he doesn't care. He screams only when he sees my son playing non stop during weekend. My parents and I told my hubby to restrict my DS, my hubby simply ignored us.
Janet, your girl is obedient to follow the year end revision schedule you plan for her. -
RE: Sec 1.parents - how much homework does your child have?
Sad to say he is doing badly in his studies this year. He is hooked on to his phone and the on line games. Nothing interest him except online games. Can you believe it, after his PSLE, we had a family holiday in Korea, first of all, I had to persuade him to go. When we were there, he kept complaining he rather stay home and play computer.
It is very hard to set limit for him. He said he has nothing to do. Ask him to go swimming, roller blade, exercise, he doesn't want to. Bring him out, he has his phone on hand all the time. I confiscated his phone on Monday. He turned the whole house upside down, threw things in my room, threw his Chinese tuition worksheets (which I requested him to read to me), screamed and threw tantrum. I bit my lips and ignored him. He is still hooked to his phone but he started to read his Chinese tuition worksheets to me since Wednesday onwards, which I am very happy.
My hubby got my DS Iphone as a reward for his PSLE. Then my world turns upside down :slapshead:

RE: Sec 1.parents - how much homework does your child have?
I rarely see my DS does homework. He is on watsapp, utube, games all the time. Weekend, occasionally meet up with classmates to do project. And, their discussion doesn't last long. I see him very eng.
He doesn't spend much time doing his D&T. Toggle to play games and pretending to do D&T in order to get permission to use PC. -
RE: 2016 Date of open house for secondary school
Oh dear, I can’t make it for the open house for Chung Cheng High Main.
Any open house for TJC?
What do you look out for / ask during open house?
Would you consider distance and convenience of travel when selecting secondary school? -
RE: 2016 Date of open house for secondary school
Thank you Patrick for calling up the schools and post the information here

What is COP?Foreverfriends:
May I know what do you look out for during open house?
Ask your child if he/she likes the school environment, the pupils you have communicated with, the teaching staff whom you have approached, the school program, etc., how does your child feel?
If you are interested in a particular CCA, does the school offer that CCA?
For IP schools, you may ask about school fees, miscellaneous fees, CCA fees, etc.
Teacher to student ratio, does the school offer special talent program that your kid is interested in, etc
If traveling distance is your concern, check where's the nearest bus stop or MRT station, check the traveling time needed, etc.
Also check what's the COP or any niche CCA and DSA's requirements.
Last year, I brought my son to VS open house. We did not know what to do. Just walk around blindly by ourselves. Also dont know what question to ask.
My son keeps saying he wants to go to the same school as his classmate.
