If compare SAP school with SAP school,

take Chung Cheng Main first.
Chung Cheng Main lets all students take Higher MT. So at least your child has the experience to learn more Chinese.
Anglican High only lets students who are eligible by MOE to take Higher MT. So only half of the level gets to do HMT. The other half are all MT. Furthermore, if you fail sec 1 HMT, straightaway you go to MT. No such nonsense in Chung Cheng Main.

I feel they should make it compulsory for all students to take HCL otherwise it depict the purpose of being a SAP school. For those that cannot make the mark later on, can still drop to normal Chinese. If they didn't offer it to all students, those who can actually score in HCL won't even have the chance to prove it. If the student did well in Sec 1 normal Chinese, will he or she be offered HCL in Sec 2?

Very very few each year from CL to HCL. One or two students at most each year.
The school wants to protect their O level results. The less HCL students the school has, the lower the failure rate, the better the statistics look.

How many sec 1 classes this year ? 10 or 11 ? Anyone know?

current sec one is 6 higher chinese vs. 4 chinese class. I guess it is depends on cohort.

Only 6 classes higher Chinese? That's very little, considering this school is the SAP type. That means only 60% get to do higher Chinese and 40% don't get to do.

May I know what is the fastest way from Sengkang to AHS via public transport? My son likes the school but i think the commute may take a long time. we are trying the google map way of Bus to PAsir Ris then Train to Tanah Merah later. TIA!

Actually from Sengkang to Anglican High using public transport is really very tiring, winding and time-consuming. Because there is no direct line and route.
Do discuss with son, is it really worth the energy ? the peak hours traveling easily takes one hour. From tanah merah mrt still must walk up for ten min at least.

The school is more than happy if you don't take HMT.
To take HMT, you must do very well in their own diagnostic test.
If you don't want to take HMT, then no need to take the diagnostic test.
The school only let 60% of the students take HMT. The other 40% will not get to do.

Yes. All sec 1 2 3 students in the school take HCL. It is the school’s way of showing to parents and students the school’s commitment and confidence to nurture students in Chinese. Given its SAP background and centre of chinese excellence, it is really different from other schools. The students in CCHMS also find it a privilege to do HCL.

Saw an update


Anglican High School Open house is on 25/11/17, from 9 am up to 4 pm. It ends the latest among schools in the east.

I intend to go from Chung Cheng Main (it ends at 12 nn), to Pasir Ris Crest, to Hai Sing Catholic, to Changkat Changi and then to Anglican.
