Hmmm ....... Reading the above posts, there seem to be a trend that Day 2 oral topic is more difficult!

If there is a visible trend, MOE should review future PSLE oral to standardize the papers. None of other papers has this inconsistency and 'heng suay' factor. It will be a fairer exam if there is no two different set of questions. That said, what's the whole point of having a standardized exam without standardized questions? :frustrated:
I thought no moderation for oral? Or am I wrong?

Well, just saying. We will never know. Just hope Day 2 kids will not be victimized.

The same for last year batch which MT was tougher for Day 2. DD wriggled her way thru.
Day 1 was easier and more to talk. Even her tr commented too.
It turned out to be a blessing that DD did ok.

Not to worry too much. Who knows....it may be moderated.
Hope so. Glad to hear that. Thanks! We should move on.

Haiz. Still feel for my DS on Day 2 Chinese oral. No choice. Have to move on. Still got many papers ahead.

I hope they moderate the scores if they see Day 2 overall scores generally lower. It’s only fair for the entire cohort, especially the ‘unlucky’ Day 2 kids.

      Dear all,

My DS is very upset with his Chinese oral today. Base on what I heard, yesterday's picture and conversation are easier. My DS's classmates also lamented the same thing.

It's really unfair for kids taking PSLE today. I can only console my DS to move on. The ministry should really make sure the standard of oral exam is consistent for the 2 days. Else make all pupils sit for English on Day 1, then sit for Mother Tongue on Day 2. That is the best way to ensure consistency!

From what I have known, PSLE oral topics from Day 1 will somehow be linked with Day 2.

If there is a link, it's quite loose. Day 1 is cleanliness in public area. Day 2 is household chore at home.

What are 会话 questions for Chinese? DS is interested to know.

My DS said it is about how your family divide household chores. Well, my wife and maid do most of the chores, no wonder my DS not much to 'smoke' haha!

      Hi jothuat47

Think it is difficult to get all kids to sit for el on 1 day & CL on another day. Do not think they hv so many teachers.
Understand the constraints but if that compromises the standard, MOE should review the process.

Agreed that MOE shd review such inconsistency in Oral exam. My DS and his classmate find today Chinese oral is tough while others commented yesterday Chinese is much easier. Sigh....

Same here. We are not alone. Considering writing to MOE to make noise. Haha.

My dd felt the topic was easy today. In fact many of her classmates feel the same.

Really? Chinese? The teachers must have trained your dd and classmates very well!

Yes Chinese. Her prelims were tougher, with the setting of a 露天台.
Wow...cheem stuff. I guess a tough prelim oral is always better. Over prepared students always win haha.
