Is it true that all children made it to GEP program attended enrichment classes one way or another?

1. attended English, Math tuition classes?
2. attended Olympiad classes?
3. attended GEP preparation program be it private tutor or institution?
4. attended GEP camp?

Is it possible that an ordinary child who had never been exposed to the above specific trainings and tuitions eventually being selected for the program?

Is it possible that a child being selected for GEP program, if he or she had never attended any tuition classes (even for the mainstream syllabus). Are there any success cases out there especially the child is a self learning child with basic parents guidance since P1 to P3 (the child read widely) but never attended any tuition in his /her life?

Both my children have no tuition except for tien hsia before p3. They were not exposed to Math Olympiad classes or training. Nor have they attended GEP prep classes or camps. Both were selected to join the program.
They are avid readers since young.

My eldest has been in the program for 2 years with no tuition. He does not do much assessment books as we cannot find anything close to what he is learning in the program. The only thing we coach him in is Chinese. Else he is pretty much on his own. He is scoring 70s for his exams. Most of his classmates have tuition and they are scoring far better than him. Since he is coping well, enjoying the program and does not see the need for tuition, we just let him be.

Congrats! We are still waiting patiently. Ytd we saw the edusave merit cert in the letterbox n thought it was the posting results. Wonder if they will still get the edusave merit next yr.

Just receive letter today that comfirmed the choice of school. Btw, heard that Gep Chinese paper will change next year such that all Gep students will not be taking the same Gep Chinese paper but will take the Chinese paper from their school respectively. True?
