triplediao:
(情况)is the answer

the question is quite tricky, wanted to put 状态 but on a second thought, i put 情况。 btw i think 情况 might be wrong and should be 感受 because the passage had a part whereby the small bird said out his feelings that the entire training was tiring etc .
It can't be 感受 cause the little bird didn't tell the teacher his/her feelings. Unless the teacher can read minds la.
According to what I heard from the question, i think that it should be 感受 instead. 情况 is more of the progress of little bird, how he is progressing in terms of skill.

However, 感受is how he feels, his thoughts, his opinions on the matter. Hence, while the former choice is about his progress, it is the latter answer 感受 that should be correct as the teacher was actually conveying little bird's thoughts on the subject to his mother.

Moreover, the whole story focus more on the feelings on little bird regarding the whole lesson, and not how he has progressed in terms of skill, but the fact of how he feels about it all.

It's a trick question, but if one grasps the concept and understands what the story is really telling its readers, then one would know the answer.

• RE: Nanyang Girls' High School [*IP]

I have a t-score of 274+2, but I’m not sure if I should go to Raffles/Nanyang Girls.

I’m from Nanyang Primary, so Nanyang Girls High is near my house. Also, most of my friends are going to NYGH.

Raffles on the other hand, has a CCA which I want to join. Most people asked me to go to RGS, so I am confused.

Does anyone know which school should I choose? Both schools are okay for me.

• RE: Choose Secondary school for 2010

mallavarapu:
Parents, my daughter got 246. Methodist COP is 253...!

I want to chooose MGS as 1st choice and Crescent as 2nd choice..
Is it too optimistic to opt Methodist as 1st choice..? Is there a ray of hope..? any experiences to share..??
She has prefect/leadership certificates.. not sure if those kinda things help in appealing..

Appreciate your feedback.
I'm a child too, but based on what my teacher told me, the hopes of appealing are not too high.

There was a boy that my teacher taught with an aggregate score that allows him to get into HCI, but not RI. He put RI as the first choice, but did not get in.

HCI did not accept him as well (it was at the 2nd/3rd choice) , he ended up at SJI.

Likewise, your child might not get into Cresent although you pass the cut-off point if you put Cresent as your 2nd/3rd Choice.

If your child does well in a CCA, you might consider appealing.

Why not try Cedar Girls? I heard that it is a good school, and should be within your child's t-score.

• RE: Secondary School Third Languages

sesame246:
hi, my girl intends to take a foreign language in S1 but not sure which is more appropriate - French, German or Japanese. We know nothing about these languages but she is very good in writing though.

We are looking in terms of practicality and the ease of learning a new language. Would appreciate your sharing.
I suggest that your child take French or Japanese. Japanese is closer to Chinese and it may be easier to learn.

French has \"English Alphabets\", so your child need not learn a whole new set of ABCs.

I'm not quite sure of German though.

It also depends on whether your child is strong in Chinese or English for the ease of learning the language. French is closer to English, and Japanese is closer to Chinese.

• RE: Past Year Exam Papers

csc:
Actually, kelly1, the papers will be on-sale by those vendors of TOP school exam papers 1/2 weeks after the prelims, with enough time for last-min practice before THE PSLE. ie, assuming the children have run out of papers to practice... WOW!

That's what my son's form teacher did last year. She ordered the latest set for the class to practise before the PSLE.

But , do make sure your child PEAK at the right time and don't get 'burned out' in the process.
You shouldn't go and buy other school's papers cos it is not fair to the students of that school. What good will the students have if everyone gets their papers?

Because of this reason , some schools don't allow the students to get their paper home. It is unfair to the students of that school , just because of this act.
!!! :x :x :x :x :x
