      Any parents/students can give feedback on the school?

      The principal seems like a very nice and friendly lady.
      Based on the school's popularity, I am surprised that this thread is so quiet.
      the school has it own parent support group.

    • RE: 2014 Request for Advice on Selecting Secondary Schools

      Hi Autumn_leaf,

      My dd is in SOTA and she enjoys her school very much. At first i'm worried about the IB course which I'm not familiar with compared with \"O\" levels, but i guess i have made the right choice by looking at her now (so much happier than last year when she was battling with PSLE). I guess our children's happiness is of utmost importance. So for those out there who are pondering over IB or O levels, please keep an open mind. Every road leads to Rome.

      Cheers :rahrah:

      What is SOTA? Thanks.

      Ladies,

      I have no idea what you are discussing about 😂

      I decided not to ask too many questions otherwise giving myself unnecessary stress

      Right attitude! 😄

    • RE: Q&A - PSLE Math

      Question:

      Dan, Emmy and Farah bought a present for their grandmother. Dan paid 1/3 of the amount paid by Emmy and Farah. Emmy paid 2/3 of the amount paid by Dan and Farah. Given that Dan paid $24 less than Farah, find the cost of the present.

      TIA.

      Hello ksdad28,

      D : E & F
      1 : 3, total = 4u

      E : D & F
      2 : 3, total = 5u.

      Since the total amount paid by D, E & F should be the same in both scenario, we need to make their total in terms of units the same. Doing so we will multiply the first ratio by 5 and the second ratio by 4. And we will get this more accurate ratio:

      D : E & F
      5 : 15, total = 20u

      E : D & F
      8 : 12, total = 20u.

      D = 5u,
      E = 8u and
      F = 15 - 8 OR 12 - 5 = 7u

      Farah’s 7u minus Dan’s 5u = $24 = 2u
      1u = $24 / 2 = $12
      Total cost = 20u = $12 x 20 = $240

      Hope this helps!

      Thanks you so much!

      Miss Lim has some pencils for her pupils. If she gives each of them 2pencils, she will have 1 pencil left. If she gives each of them 3 pencils, she will need 11 more pencils. How many pencils does she have?

      Thanks.

      sorry! should be 25 pencils.

      1+11 = 12 (people). 12X2 +1 = 25 (pencils)

      thanks!
