      Hi,

Just a random question…how are these so-called greenhouse gases cause global warming? Is there a chemical reaction taking place?

Just sharing here in case you have a child who is an auditory learner or enjoys using music to aid memorization. My friend (who migrated to USA) said her P2’s teacher recommended this series of YouTube videos, specially sung by Maths teachers.

Multiplication times tables, sung to the tune of pop songs that the kids will like.

Sample 3x tables song (to the tune of Uptown Funk): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9XzfQUXqiYY[/quote]
This is very interesting. Never thought there are people such as auditory learners with a very unique way or learning. 😊

    • RE: IP vs O level

Yes, I agree IP is really tough. It’s a good thing to ask the child’s opinion if he’s really that interested to go with IP so when he’s out there with all the struggles, he knows that he really wanted it and is so he should be motivated enough to overcome the challenges. Of course, parents’ guidance is very important. Communication should be open so when a child needs help, parents should be there to help him look for ways.

    • RE: O-Level Chemistry

      Hello Uptas,

Thank you for your patience in answering my question. So, the presence of impurities weakens the lattice, making it less stable. As a result, the compound melts at a lower temperature..now I get it! Thank you so much!👍

      Hi,

What is the effect of impurities in melting point and boiling point of a substance? Need your help. Thanks.

      Hi lee!

Impurities cause lowering of melting point through the process called melting point depression. For the boiling point, on the other hand, impurities results to higher boiling point of the substance because the number of molecules available for boiling is decreased.

      I hope it helps!

If you have more assignments to be assisted with, you can post at this forum. https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=95661&p=1973791#p1973791
you can also find Q&A and tips and tricks there!

Why is the impurities causing the melting point to decrease? For the boiling point, thank you so much Uptas for the rationale.

Will visit the forum you have shared for my next queries. Thanks a lot!
