in reply to the secondary one girl that would love to transfer to a different school, she has not experienced the full feeling of being a CHIJ Secondary student. I’m sorry to hear that she would want to transfer as CHIJ Secondary is EXTREMELY different from CHIJ Primary (Toa Payoh). hello there, parents and students. i am currently in the graduating cohord of chij secondary, and would safely say that this is a great school to be in. though there’s many bad remarks given about my school on this website, majority of the students come out of the major examinations with distinctions.

we are taught to be women of distinction, to treat everyone with care and compassion. teachers in the school are approachable and open to students, and are always willing to help students lagging behind in their studies. most of the school celebrations are conducted and created by student leaders, which allows students the exposure of public speaking, being able to stand on stage with courage and the creativity to make these performances. friendships are easily forged in the school throughout all the levels. however, many secondary 1 students that first enter the school, may feel fear inflicted in them when first meeting the upper secondary, though it would change in a matter of months as the intimidation would soon evolve into friendships. academic wise, the teachers will always be able to push students with the worst grades, to the best grades (knowing this first hand). I was an F9 Math student in secondary 3 but became an A2 student by the time it was prelim 1.

CCAs in the school excell very well, netball has a high reputation as they are national champions for both divisions. Choir has distinctions and great preformances as well. Different CCAs such as Tennis, ODAC, Gymnastics, Dance, Basketball, Athletics, Squash, Band, Girl Guides and many more CCAs are always available to your daughter/you in the school.
