GreenA:Hi! parents,
My daughter has 258+3. We stay in Yishun.
I am considering these options for her:
1. St. Nicholas Girl School IP
Pros: Less then 30mins travel time; All girls school; Caring Teacher and devoted principal; new campus and good facilities;
Cons: Secondary and Primary pupils share same campus, looks crowded; IP is new and unproven; JC campus not even built yet;
2. Dunman High
Pros: High COP means good reputation; New and big campus;
Cons: 50 mins travel time from home, by MRT; Has so far only produced 2 batches of A level students, so can't yet say much of it academic performance;
3. NJC
Pros: 2 years JC level is long established; has produced many president scholars (but in distant past); diverse student body; has experience in produce student leaders, small cohort size. (Website said only 130 student for IP program, not sure if it is still true now)
Cons: 55mins travel time from home, by bus; Academically not very outstanding
I can't send my daughter to River Valley, it is really too far. She has only A in Math, can't apply for NUS high. So guess these are the options we have now.
Please share with my your opinion on these 3 schools, especially for Dunman High and NJC. I really do not know much of them. Missed the opportunities for open house.
Thank you very much.
We live in yishun too and my daughter goes to RVHS.i think the distance doesn't really matter...as long as she likes the school(and she does). :xedfingers: :xedfingers:
