is there such thing as lit tutoring? and what does that cover?

      I do tutor Literature.
I will first go through the text with my student, making sure he understands the plot truly well. And then after finishing the book, we will move on to the bigger picture and deal with the Themes and Characters of the book to have a deeper understanding of what the story is all about. Then, we will relate this book to our own experiences and try to find its relevance in our own lives, and make sense of it all in our world.
Then there is the poetry element, where we will read poems, learn more about its structures, rhythm patterns and also the various literary tools.
Besides the reading and understanding aspect, there is also the written aspect of Literature, as the student needs to answer sourced-based questions and write essays. Again, there is a format to answering such questions. And finally lots of writing practice on the student's part.
Hope this gives you a general idea of how my Lit lesson is conducted.

      Hi Dean,
I am unable to PM you to understand more about your Lit tutoring. Is it possible for you to PM me pls? Thanks.

    • RE: Hotel Booking Websites

tripadvisor recently launched TINGO http://www.tingo.com - the first hotel booking site that automatically rebooks hotel rooms at a lower price if the rate drops—and then automatically refunds the difference to travelers’ credit cards.

disclaimer: i have yet to try out this site or booked anything so cannot vouch if the refund really occurs....

      hi picolo,

thanks for the comparison and update on pricing. looks like the offers at bookfest and sitex are the same. will try to pop down to bookfest if i can find the time. i think i’m pretty set on PT-1290 since the price difference (bet 1290 and 1280) is rather minimal.

not sure if these are better than those at bookfest? i am considering getting PT-1290 as i prefer the labels to be more lasting.

hi piyopica, can u post a pic of the bag? is it available at all metro shops? TIA

i didn't get the bag, but you can find a picture from metro website:
      http://www.metro.com.sg/metropolis/2011/e-magazine/pwp/index.html

go to the last page of the catalogue. metro had a similar PWP last year and impact bags were also on offer (but different designs from the ones on offer this year).

metro is having PWP offer. spend $20 nett in a single receipt and can buy impact school bag for $49.90. i think this is a pretty good deal. the original price is listed as $109. this PWP starts on 10nov for members. non-members 11nov onwards.
