Recently went for the Eight Tones X Singapore Chinese Orchestra Children’s Concert, was a really great introduction for my youngest one to chinese music. We did the DIY mouth whistle, attended the dizi workshop and got a free dizi!
The concert was very educational as well, very kid friendly and a good experience as the kids would usually get bored at normal concerts.
Turns out that my kid was enticed enough by the day’s experience, kept trying to play the dizi we got from the workshop, so we ended up sending him for dizi lessons at Eight Tones!
Hope for more kids concerts like these, I’m sure many parents can relate to kids not appreciating normal concerts and can’t sit still.

Hi, may I know if your teachers are local or from china? Currently looking for an erhu teacher who can speak english because my kid's chinese is not too good and cannot understand most of what the teacher is saying!
Hi! All of our teachers are local and fluent in both English and Chinese. In fact, we have several non-mandarin-speaking students! Don't have to worry about the language barrier here. Feel free to contact us at 9836 2072, we would love to help you find the right teacher for your child! You can visit our website for more information about our school. http://www.eight-tones.com.sg
Teachers for all instruments or just for erhu? Daughter isn't taking lessons yet, she plays pipa, worried about the same issue -

Anyone heard of this company - Eight Tones Music School?
yeap son goes there because his teacher is teaching under that school now, i find it's much better than going to the teacher's house, the school is better equipped... and with aircon as well!

There's a new place called Eight Tones... at lavender as well but easier to get to. They sell from reoutable makers, even the budget ones which is good, got one for my son from there since he's now learning erhu there. http://www.eight-tones.com.sg
Their service is very good and I often buy accessories from them, I find the instruments a little too \"mass-market\". I'm sure you can find something within your budget though. I'd advise not to get the S$200 erhu though bc of sound quality, bc Eason does have erhus below S$200 as well.peterch:
Check with eason, hope you could get a good advice from them. http://www.eason.com.sg
BTW, I am not related to them in anyway. I bought a piece from them and I'm satisfied with their service. -
RE: Baby's First Foods
For snacks, my kid loved baby bites, those wafers that melt in the mouth. even I found myself snacking on them once in awhile.

RE: All About Values
I really don’t think the kids take these classes seriously in school, if they take it too seriously their friends will look at them and think they are trying too hard to be ‘guai’. Best to take things like your child’s values into your own hands.
