Don't understand why need to set a paper so hard that several children have to cry over it. My DD was busy consoling her friends after paper 1 as some could not finish on time. Paper 2 was very hard too according to 2 top math Olympiad students in DD class. It is really demoralizing for the children as the first 2 papers (English & Math) were kind of tough. I believe every child has work really hard for this national exam despite all the disruption due to COVID. Now my DD class chat is full of hates and curses for MOE and the Minister. I really pity them and hope PSLE will be over soon. All I can do now is try motivate her to not give up and continue to do her best for the next 3 more papers next week šŸ™‚

Most probably the reason is that SOTA accept students via their art talent instead of academic result. The other local IB school admission are based on academic results and most probably the top X %.
I don't think SOTA accept student based on talent only because my DD's friend get CO for dance but a few of CCA strong dancers (that have many competitions) get rejection. DD's friend was very surprised too and the only reason we could think of (beside all did well for audition) is their friends AL score is alot higher than her. So ultimately every schools will still take AL score into consideration.
