RE: All About International Baccalaureate (IB)
My daughter is sitting for her O level this year and she told me she is keen on going to IB instead of JC or poly.
Thing is, Iβm clueless about IB. All I know is that student join at secondary level and they skip O level. My girl told me that after her O level she can join IB, is this true?
I would appreciate if someone would be kind enough to enlighten me on this IB program. Iβm really at a loss about its admission, curriculum, etc.

RE: Learning Dialect
I'm a hokkien and DH is hainanese but we don't speak both dialects at home. Ironically my eldest DD learned hokkien whilst at poly. Apparently most of her peers curse and swear in hokkien :yikes: Not too please with her choice of learning hokkien through this way thot.
My niece and nephew however, speaks very good hokkien coz they stay with my dad (a true hokkien fellow). So the only way to communicate with grandpa, they have to learn hokkien since young. -

:hi5: Me too!
Am one who told my famiy members that I would like my ash to be cast into the sea mainly because I dont see the purpose of confining \"myself\" in an urn.starlight1968sg:
It's so sad when my brother and sister lamenting that when they pass on, they will want their ashes to cast into the sea because their children are of
different religion and very likely will not want to be involved in the funeral arrangements and subsequent religious rites eg Qing Ming festival, anniversary etc. So so
I don't think my great grandchildren will visit my urn so no need to put me in columbarium. The columbarium money can be donated to charity.
I told my family that I like that idea of having my ashes buried under a tree (like what the Koreans did) I think it's a very good way of returning back to mother nature what she had given me during my life on earth. -

How nice if all these messages be compiled into a book. Not only it's colorful
but it will serve as a 'guide book to life'. :rahrah:
I am actually doing that right now... I'm compiling a scrapbook on chinese quotes. I had them saved and printed as a photograph and decorated in a scrapbook. It's fun... you should try it.

RE: What do you do when feeling down?
When I am feeling down, I like to :
1. Go shopping - just to pamper myself
2. Clean the house - to let off steam :frustrated:
3. Watch a funny movie - to cheer myself up :rahrah:
What about you? Care to share?

RE: ηζ»θ°
Last year was a bad year for me.. I injured my knee cap badly and couldn't walk nor stand for long. I felt very depressed that my everyday routine is disrupted. It got me very worried that should one day I just pass away what will happen to my 2 girls (one in poly and the younger in Sec 2 last year). I felt that there are still so many things I want to teach and impart to them. I started complying a scrapbook on traditional Chinese customs from moving into new house routine, CNY customs, Dragon Boat Festival, Ching Ming Festival... detailing everything they must do on these festive occasions.
Last Xmas, I gave each of them a scrapebook that I made comprising of motivational quotes..... I wanted them to have it to look back on to cheer and motivate them when I'm not around.
This year, my target is to compile a list of my cooking recipes for them. Not that I'm a good cook - DH always complain my cooking isn't that great. But my girls love my cooking thot
I'm also planning on writing up a will and looking at booking a urn space at the Nirvana columbarium.
