Hi MommyNg,
Thanks for the feedback, that I understand but both my husband and I can't speak mandarin well so how will that work out? Will home based learning apps help? We can use that to sing and teach the kids.
Any good ones to recommend? I understand some tuition centres here offers HBL.
Think it will be useful for english speaking parents like us
mommyNg:Environment environment environment!! The child needs to be provided with the Chinese-speaking environment. I would strongly suggest that you start speaking to him in Chinese, read to him Chinese stories every night, and exposed to him as much Chinese as possible. Language is best learnt that way rather than tuition, especially when your son is still young!NatashaLove:Hi fellow parents,
I would like to seek some advise.
My soon-to-be 3yr old son doesn't seem to have an interest in learning chinese. We speak mainly english back home with only his grandma speaking chinese.
Any ideas on how I can start? Any successful stories? Open to sending him for tuition as i understand its best for a child to pick up a language before the age of 6.
Thanks in advance
Natasha
