[quote=\"Kangkangteo\"]If the question is \"Why does clear glass .....?\", my answer will be as given by the teacher.

But since the question asks \"How ....?\", I will need to explain instead of just stating that it is transparent.

You may want to clarify with his Science teacher. It is likely that they will finally mark both answers as correct.

I'd like to add on a small but important point regarding this question. In the latest syllabus by MOE, students are not required to know the term \"transparent\". Therefore, kangkangteo's answer would be acceptable.

When such situations arise, I would also advise the student to ask the teacher politely if the answer can be accepted.

For a summary of the new Science syllabus, you may refer to my post: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum ... 7#p1380327.

Hi, the new 2014 syllabus is only affecting P3 students of 2014. Current P4-P6 is not affected.

      From MOE website http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/syllabuses/sciences/

Clear glass allows most of the light reflected from the display to pass through it and into the shoppers' eyes so that they can see the display clearly.

this is son's answer too,but cher mark wrong and the given answer is, It is transparent.

Hi, please help the following qtn:

Lisa has some apples and pears in a basket. If she buys 10 apples, 3/5 of the fruits in the basketare pears. If she buys 30 pears, 3/4 of the fruits in the basket are pears. How many apples are there in the basket?
      Apples: 2 units - 10 = 1 part
      Pears: 3 units = 3 parts - 30

      3 units = 6 units - 30 - 30
      3 units = 60
      1 unit = 20

      Number of apples = 2 * 20 - 10 = 30 apples

      Hi , please help

      http://i61.tinypic.com/142ugi9.jpg\">

      Thanks!
Step 1. Find total cost of purses & total cost of wallets
      Total cost of purses = (3172 - 52) ÷ 2 = $1560
      Total cost of wallets = 1560 + 52 = $1612

Step 2. Find cost of 1 unit of purses and 1 unit of wallets
He bought 2 units of wallets and 5 units of purses.

      1 unit of purses costs 1560 ÷ 5 = $312
      1 unit of wallets costs 1612 ÷ 2 = $806

Step 3. Find number of items in 1 unit
Difference between 1 unit of wallets and 1 unit of purses = $494
      Difference between 1 wallet and 1 purse = $38
      Number of items in 1 unit = $494 ÷ $38 = 13 items

      Answer. Cost of 1 purse
      Number of purses bought = 5 × 13 = 65 purses
      Cost of 1 purse = $1560 ÷ 65 = $24

Answer. Total number of purses and wallets bought
      Total number of purses and wallets bought = 7 × 13 = 91 items

      🤷 Anyone can solve this?
Exterior angles of a polygon = 360 degrees

      360 * 2 = 720 degrees

      Sum of interior angles of 5 triangles = 180 * 5 = 900 degrees

      w + x + y + z = 900 - 720 - 39 = 141 degrees

      Pls help!

The distance between Town P and Town Q was 320 km. Mr Tan started travelling from Town P towards Town Q at 09 00. Mr Ong left Town P half an hour later than Mr Tan and travelled towards Town Q. Mr Tan's speed was 20km/h slower than Mr Ong's and at 11 30, the two motorists met. When Mr Ong was 70km away from Town Q, what was the distance between Mr Tan and him?
Ratio of time spent travelling on same distance before meeting
      Mr Tan : Mr Ong = 2.5 : 2 = 5 : 4

      Ratio of speed
      Mr Tan : Mr Ong = 4 : 5
      1 unit -> 20km/h
      Mr Tan's speed = 80km/h
      Mr Ong's speed = 100km/h

      Mr Ong
      Distance travelled = 320 - 70 = 250km
      Time taken = 2.5hrs

      Mr Tan
      Time taken = 3hrs
      Distance travelled = 3 * 80 = 240km

      Difference = 250 - 240 = 10km

Give a classification heading for the above.
My guess is that these animals are classified by their habitats.

      Household, garden, pond, river

There's some overlap and ambiguity though.

After that, the number of beads and stamps Alice had were in Raton 8:5 and the number of beads and stamps Eve had were in the ratio 3:2. How many beads did Alice buy?
