Hi all, am new to this and terribly glad there’s a platform to share our worries on. My son will be in CHS next yr. I was quite surprised (more like fearful actually!) to see that all the chinese textbooks in the booklist are for Higher Chinese. Our dominant language at home is English, and am really worried my son (and I) will not be able to cope.


Anyone know what the standards are like and if there is hope for CL2 types like us to survive? What about the Chinese teachers in CHS? Are they the encouraging nurturing sort? I still have images of whip-wielding Chinese teachers from my own day back in school. cry
