Hi,

Would anyone share how to join as parent volunteer and how early should we start? Thanks in advance!

Keen to know too, any experienced parents can share?

      Hi all,

You need to call the school to ask when you should start sending in your application for PV. It is not listed on their website. HTHs.
For info.....

P1 registration: Child must live at declared address for at least 30 months from July 2, 2015

Children who have secured places in primary schools under the home-school distance priority scheme will be required to live at the address for at least 30 months from the start of the Primary 1 registration exercise on July 2.

This new rule applies to children entering primary school next year. Previously there was no specific length of time set by the Ministry of Education (MOE).

I think this is fair because you are admitted to the school due to the proximity.

only prob that will arise will be those who intends to move but not yet during the P1 registration..
I am one such example. :stompfeet: We are staying with ILs now (<2km) and are planning to move. Already looking for the right unit for the past year (must be <2km). We will be registering in July using ILs' address (which is our current address). I wonder if we really do move to an address which is also <2km soon, what are we suppose to do? Dying to move out of ILs' place. :censored:

I tried calling MOE today. Hotline is really hot. Maybe due to the new rule? Left a message and hopefully they call me back soon.

It's easy if you remember it is just a primary school šŸ™‚ . Do chill out here with the rest of us. Welcome!

      HELLO!! :rahrah:

I know... 🤷 I always remind myself that it is not end of the world. But seeing the effort that other parents put into for their kids, it really stresses me out. I always log in relax and log out unable to sleep. It takes much effort to bring myself to visit this forum. But need to learn some skills from the parents here, so no choice have to face the reality! And to think still got one more year to the real test. :slapshead:

      Hello all parents :salute:

I have been a member for more than 3 years but this is my first time posting. Although I always drop by this forum, I always exit after 10 mins max because I always become very stressed up after reading the various topics here. It is a love/hate relationship. sigh... :frustrated:

My girl is 5 this year. Next year will be the time for us to register her for P1. I have been following the registration currently and I have to say, it is really not easy! Not yet my turn not the stress level is already hitting max already!
