"there were 2 couple within 1km in sjij yet didn’t withdraw… what are they thinking??? Worth the risk sticking to acsp? There are 10 spot for them to fill."

Everyone wants the best for their child. Human nature. The 2 couple also wanted their kids to study at ACSP and not SJIJ. Let us not fault them for this. Just a coincidence they lived 1 km to SJIJ too. I think based on stats very clear that ACS is better primary school than SJI.

If everyone acts with sanity there will be no ballotting for SC<1km across ACS family. Praying to make sure everyone takes the right call rather than a crazy decision at 4:00 PM tomorrow jeopardising others chances

Thanks a lot for this... Only concern I have is we are >2 km from SMPS... Should we register for say RGPS on 31st morning and depending on the ballot need go to SMPS in afternoon? Do both schools inform status to parents on 31st so parents can make the right decision?

since u stay less than 1 km from Rgps : can register your girl on the last day of Phase 2C (Fri, 31 July). One of u (either u or yr spouse) stay inside the school, hang around 3 pm, thereabout.

another person standby at St Margaret primary (SM). When reach SM, first thing is get a queue number.

latest by 3.15 pm, u must ascertain what is the status at SM ?
SC outside 2 km (since you fall under this category), need to ballot or not ?

if SM need to ballot for SC outside 2 km : then forget SM, stick to Rgps : provided less than 1 km Rgps no need to ballot, means u are safe.

But suppose < 1 km (Rgps) Phase 2C also need to ballot, then how ?
      did u notice that # Phase 1 registered exceed last year (2014) #Phase 1, by (97 - 68) = 29, almost 1 class of 30 pupils gone !

Rgps : we'll put up a white board.
after 2.30 pm, at every 15 minutes interval :
P1 Officer will come out, erase off the old figures from the board, re-write refreshed figures, as follows :-

Phase 2C (day 3, last day : 31 July), time : xxxxx am / pm
      Total vacancies : yyy

      < 1 km : # of SC, # of PR

      between 1 to 2 km : # of SC, # of PR

      > 2km : # of SC, # of PR

if both schools also need to ballot : then which one face a lower risk of balloting ?
if both schools need to ballot, I advise u to choose another P2C primary school no need to ballot. Why ? because u are already in P2C now.

In your P2C plan : ensure that u have a third school (a backup school), no need to ballot.

if both schools need to ballot :
withdraw from Rgps, enrol yr dd into that backup school.
(eg : is there any CHIJ primary school nearby yr house, no need to ballot ?)

Find out (do a test run a few days before P2C start), from 3 pm to reach that backup school, how long is the driving time required, any traffic jam ?
maybe get a friend to drive you there, on that day, in case u nervous or distracted, can't concentrate on road traffic properly.
You also need someone else (a friend or a relative) to be stationed (on standby) at the 3rd school, helped u get a queue number first.

      my greatest concern is :
during that crucial, critical last one hr (from 3.30 to 4.30 pm), suppose last minute more and more parents turn up to enrol, this may possibly drive SM into balloting for SC, outside 2 km.
      Why ?
because many parents often turn to either Marymount Convent or SM, as a last minute standby, backup school in P2C.

if u really want to take the risk, ballot at either SM or Rgps (suppose both schools need to ballot), then make sure u have a standby school under P2C Supplementary : whereby u are less than 1 km from this 2C Supp school, no more balloting involved.

Thanks a lot for all the help to clarify our situation here... I will need your views again on 21st Jul once 2B results are clear... You are making this nerve wracking process atleast a bit more smoother
