If unavailable than further away. You have no choice in this.
3. In your case, your chances of getting a school looks good. In my estimate approximately 30% of those applied only got it in 2019.

My two elder sons got in after the tough AEIS exams 4 years ago- So if you need any guidance plse let me know.
Also there are several mid priced international schools in Singapore with price about $18000 per year or less.
Usual high end school fees is about $35000.
If you are going to stay in Sg for longer time than can prepare for AEIS. -

Geography will be more real world relevant.
However taking arts based subject as 4th major in Year 4 will truly dissipate focus from Pure sciences which defeats the purpose of excellence in science and maths. -
