Yes hope to have a parent support group. I am even thinking to request for AES to change their school uniform to differentiate from APS and Boys Town.

I thought knowing eligible is good enough? Choose not to go is separate. In any case we are talking about AES, 44% should be considered good.:)

On second reading, Floppy you are right. What he meant is 44% of the express cohort make it to JC which should be same as eligible for JC?
I have my reservations over the statement in bold.PSLEfrantic\" post_id=\"1949080\" time=\"1574662241\" user_id=\"181521:
Hi I'm deciding between Zheng Hua and AES. Went to ZH openhouse but still feel better with AES. I spoke to AES principal at length just now. In 2018 44% make it to JC in 2018. This year there will be 3 Express, 2 NA, 1 NT classes. They focus on building English language which is good, and came back 4th at national debate this or last year At wits end with limited choice. Yes the openhouse may showcase only good things n good people around. We have to trust that they have the right education system and values, and our children play a part to make good themselves.
44% make it to JC is a claim that schools with much higher COP can't even make. Moreover, AES has 50% Express classes, 33.3% NA and 16.7% NT classes (and NT classes will never be eligible for JC). I suspect the school is stating that 44% of their graduating cohort is eligible for JC i.e. score < 20 points for L1R5 (which is believable) or 44% of their express cohort make it to JC (still somewhat incredible). -
RE: Assumption English School
I worry about big fish small pond phenomenon. If they do well in the school, worry if they will do well in national exam. A real example, my elder daughter did very well in a neighbourhood school top in few subjects in class and As in most subjects. While my friend’s daughter with much higher tscore 247 struggling to pass every subject in a relatively good school (238 to 260). That makes me wonder if my son’s exams are much easier. If yes will he cope his o level well?

RE: Assumption English School
That is what he said leh. 44% of 72 cohort size. He said this size is small as they are 2015 batch n their location was still at queensway. I am also a pro Cathoilic school.

Hi Captainblack
Glad that at least I have someone like you to relate to. I think we are in the same boat, and that is so much we get to know. Are you looking at Normal or Express? I’m looking at Express.
