    • RE: Mulberry Learning Centre

My experience with Mulberry has been horrible. I am so angry with myself for letting my child be there. I have since take my child out of the school and I see immediate developments.

      list of complains include:
      1) Brand manager, Mandy. Extremely difficult be contacted because she is busy. Tried to contact her for a week, between 9am to 9pm. eventually no reply from her.

      2) Centre principal is reactive, to complains. they seem so caught up with admin matters they are not sure what the teachers are doing. They will find excuses until you show them prove of their lies then they say they will make amendments. they will never tell you the truth until you force it out of them.

      3) dedicated teachers are few and far between. most seems to be there just to do a job. even then, they dont do a very good job.

      4) lying. i found unfinished milk in my child’s bottle, but daily journal claims it is fully finished with additional cereal even.

      5) lying. centre promised 1 caregive to 3 children in infant care. for a period of months, this was not fulfilled at any time of the day. as they had a shortage of staff but continue to accept children and do not tell the parents of this shortage.

      6) lying. there seems to be a written curriculum. but it is not followed at all. my child at 17 months old is in the cot for 4-5 hours a day. ie, jailed in a 60 / 120 cm cell. because the teachers are busy. the teacher to child ratio was 5 : 12. and they are too busy to let the child out.

      7) lying. during observation, 1 teacher said the children in PN are at fault for sitting near the computer screen. then with my own eyes, i see another teacher bring the child to to sit down less the 1 metre from the screen.

Regret so much putting my child in Mulberry at Acer.

I cannot imagine a 12 month+ child being happy in the cot 4.5 hrs a day.
It seems that the teachers are just there for a job.
Apart from 1 teacher, there is no passion and no life.

Their teacher to child ratio is merely govt standard. do not assume that because you pay more, there is good care for your child. their better than govt standard ratio, only happens for a few hours a day. the rest of the time, the child is not simulated. they just leave the child in the cot because it is easier.

If not for Teacher Serene, Jessie and Linda, I will not let my child attend Mulberry.

The staff planning is poor and ill prepared for contingencies. It is almost like the management assumes that teachers will never take off days, never take MCs, don’t need breaks etc.
To the management, my child is just another revenue head count.

The teachers require non-teaching help. Such as cleaning the place, cleaning the bottles etc.
And when there are insufficient teachers, and if they do have a temp teacher helping, the temp teachers seems to have little or no experience with infant care.

The existing teachers seems be doing all they can for the children. which deserves applauses. But they are not robots. I’m very disappointed with the school’s management.
specifically when I highlighted some issues, they pass it to a "Brand Manager". they seem more worried of me writing in forums like this, than to fix problems. while communicating with the Brand Manager, she had been difficult to reach at ALL TIMES of the day.
