RE: A MIX sch vs SINGLE SEX sku
hi. um im a student here. i came across this site and got interested about the discussions.
well anyway, i’d like to give my opinion. hehehh.
(i come form a co-ed school)
quite inevitably both kinds of schools will have its issues. but i guess that it really depends on choosing a healthy environment for your child and ensuring that your child knows what he/she wants to achieve.
i have a friend who chose to enrol in a girl’s school after psle. and well, she was one of the "unlucky ones", so to speak, because she got involved with a lesbian. even after three years, they are still relatively close(from what i see on facebook). im not sure if they are still together. last i heard from her was that her parents found out and they could not contact each other. that was last year. they did engage in sexual activity as well.
even in guys school, such things happen too. ( i heard things from a friend of a friend)
in our generation, having relationships during primary school is already rather common. the fact is that it is quite hard to prevent such things from happening to your child. so maybe you can try another appraoch, which is to try to reach out and connect to your child, to help them understand what is eventually more important in life.
i have to admit it is a tricky situation for adults to handle. i would say that it is a matter of good upbringing and good relationships between parent and child.
ok i’ll just end here since it looks like a rather lengthy post.
