tankee:
Think there is some misconception about RC & NC.RC chairman is not approachable ... :shock:
Still for your child's sake ....
do have some proposal ready, eg suggestion for you to plan & organize a festival celebration, charity sales for the lower income in your area, etc Something that would make him or her look good and increase your contribution to the RC.
good luck !
The numbers of office bearers for both RC & NC are as follows:
(a) Chairman;
(b) Vice-Chairman (up to three);
(c) Secretary;
(d) Assistant Secretary (up to three);
(e) Treasurer;
(f) Assistant Treasurer (up to two); and
(g) Auditor (up to two).
The total number of executive committee members including office bearers should not be more than 30.
See http://www.pa.gov.sg/about-us/pa-act-and-other-constitutions.html for details.
The appointment of officer bearers and executive committee members is usually done by PA staff-in-staff (Assistant Constituency Manager) with recommendation from present RC/NC Chairman and Senior Constituency Manager.
The processes for the appointment of executive committee members are as follows:
(a) Screening process of background;
(b) Endorsement of application of advisor;
(c) Approval of application by PA HQ.
Thus, it is advisable to contact PA staff-in-staff (Assistant Constituency Manager) to found out the status of executive committee’s application. This is because RC/NC Chairman only submits executive committee’s application and it is PA staff-in-staff’s job to follow up.
As what does RC do? It actually depends on the direction set by RC/NC officer bearer. It can range from sleeping (1 star awarded) RC to 4 stars awarded RC/NC. -

Don’t worry about offending your chairman and there is nothing wrong in contacting CC directly. This is because if you don’t contact the CC directly, the CC side might not expedite your application. The ACM/DCM/SCM are busy with other work.Yes I'm still an observer. I'm not too sure whether mine is at which stage, screening, endorsing or processing. My chairman just tell me the CC has submited???? I did told my chairman of getting the phase 2B next year, and the date is crucial to me, ie by 30 June 2010.
I do not wish to ask the CC as I dun want my chairman to feel offended.
In addition, your chairman is also a volunteer like you. He is appointed as Chairman due to his seniority. Without help from his members and volunteers like you, he will not be able to manage the RC smoothly. -

If you are still an observer, your CC will submit your application for screening. After screening is approved, your application will be send to your MP for endorsement and followed by processing in PA HQ.The dialogue from the PA website still says \"failed to login\".
The only hope now is when I received the letter is before 30 June 10.
Otherwise all my effort wasted, no doubt sometimes I enjoy assisting in RC tasks and get pretty updated news around us.
To have a better picture on the status of your application, just contact your CC and talk to your Senior or Deputy Constituency Manager. They should be able to advise you on the status of your application. -

You will get your appointment letter from PA if you are confirmed as EM. To expedite the process, you might need to talk to your chairman or Assistant Constituency Manager.Thanks Citigirl. I'm refering to confirmation of an EM, sad to say, till today (which is the last day) I still have not received the confirmation letter. My boy is born in yr 2005, this letter is meant for next year registration.
Thanks LLX04 and Marudine. Indeed a good website to check on the status. http://app.grassrootsconnect.org.sg/default.asp
Best regards to all

That mean as long as the person receive his/her appointment letter before 30 June 2009.appointed on or before 30 June 2009
Are you refering to joining by 30 June 2009? If to use RC route to enter Phase 2B must at least join at least 1.5-2 years in advance as the keyword means appointed? :? -

Not from inside PA site, but e-mail from PA HQ to SCMs. Can check with the chairman or SCM whether they receive the e-mail.
Hi Tegami,tegami:
Just received an update from PA.
'For this year's exercise, only CCC/CCMC/RC/NC members who are officially appointed by the PA for at least one year i.e. appointed on or before 30 June 2009 may apply under the Scheme for admission of their children into Primary One in 2011.'
May I know where to locate the above?? Cant seems to find it under PA site? Please advise where to locate after login? Thank you very much -

Yes in Phase 2B it would always based on demand & supply. If demand exceed supply then would have balloting.
