    • RE: Home tutor for P1 English

Are you considering only off-line possibilities? I agree that home tutoring is much more efficient than off-line because your knowledge would be better. Also, you will be able to communicate with the person who knows English and thus improve your conversation skills. Sometimes, it's wrong. I have been examining different online resources where you can learn English. I have stumbled across https://edubirdie.com/write-my-essay. It's a great website where you can get all the information you need to learn English. So, there are some alternatives to home tutoring.

Why We Should Continue To Read Aloud To Older Children

No one questions the idea that reading aloud to young children is a good thing. Reading aloud to children not only helps develop their literacy skills but fosters closeness between parent and child.

At a certain point, however, parents inevitably stop reading to their children, as children become independent readers capable of reading to themselves. There is evidence, however, to suggest that parents (and teachers) should continue to read aloud to older children up to age 14, even after they become fluent in reading. Once I stumbled upon an interesting essay on https://edubirdie.com/narrative-essay-writing-service where they covered some reasons why parents should read with kids. Here are some important reasons parents should continue to read out loud to tweens:

Children hear better than they read. According to Jim Trelease, author of the Read-Aloud Handbook, a child’s reading level isn’t on par with his listening level until the eighth grade. Trelease says that parents “can and should be reading seventh-grade books to fifth-grade kids,” as this helps gets kids buzzed about storylines and plots and will motivate them to keep reading. Kids are capable of appreciating a more complicated plot than the one in a story they can read to themselves. Reading aloud to them will keep kids coming back for more as they develop and improve their own independent reading skills.
Books can teach life lessons painlessly. As kids get closer to their teens, there are all kinds of dangers lurking that parents wish they could discuss with their teens frankly. But parents also know their counsel will go in one ear and out the other. Reading a story together about a pregnant teen, such as Mr. and Mrs. Bo Jo Jones, or a teen who struggles with addiction, such as Go Ask Alice, can be a poignant but safe way to learn about life without lectures. Use read aloud sessions to generate discussion and explore feelings, ideas and social issues.

I totally agree with your words. It's really important to read along with the child. It will develop certain habits and skills that will help succeed in the future. But it's also important for a kid to realize the importance of reading. Reading not only can help relax but to learn many things and enrich vocabulary. So it's very important to encourage your children to read even when you are not reading together. And thank you for the article. It's very interesting.

    • RE: HCL Education Centre - Discussion

I must admit that HCL provides enough time for children education. My two sons are studying history and literature here. However, they collide with a big amount of essay writings at school. So they have to use services of Edubirdie (https://uk.edubirdie.com/buy-essay). Also, can someone tell about studying at Sec-School http://www.hcleducation.com.sg/Subjects/index/3?
