Just to feedback on bloomberry as I promised. My boy had attended 1.5 months at bloomberry and he really enjoyed the school so much. He came home everyday and told me what he had learnt in school, like songs that we never taught before. He also came home clean and tidy, bag is packed decently with soiled clothes kept separately. Whenever I picked him from school, he will cry as he wants to stay in school longer.
Not sure if this is good or bad.

Hi Pristine_lilac,
My boy just started at Bloomberry in Sep, it has been 2 weeks and he is still very much enjoying the school. If you are looking at an engaging place for learning, I think Bloomberry might not disappoint you. (So far so good, my boy learnt to make mooncake and ice cream these 2 weeks & he has been singing new songs recently. He brought back the lantern that he made in school too.)
I prefer a school with smaller ratio as my boy is rather active. I hope the teacher can put more attention span on him. My wife is rather particular in cleanliness as our kids spent most of the time in school, and we feel the bloomberry is overall clean. I personally donβt know much about mindchamps, heard their fees is steep and it is more curriculum based. I still prefer my children to study in a fun environment cos they should be enjoying their childhood.
It does depends on what you want. -
RE: [Alexandra/Bukit Merah/Queenstown/Tiong Bahru] Preschools
Hi Barneybaby, I visited them 2 days ago and saw 8 kids and 3 teachers. Heard from the principal that they can take only 40+ kids for 5 levels and I raised a qns about the no. of teachers, principal say as the school grows, they will have more teachers. My boy joined the current school at west side when he as 18months, he cried for 2 weeks before settling down. Probably that is pretty normal.
Anyway, my wife and I decided to sign up this school this weekends
Shall start my boy in new school during sep and feedback more then. -
RE: [Alexandra/Bukit Merah/Queenstown/Tiong Bahru] Preschools
Hi, I am a daddy that is new to kiasuparents. We just moved to Bukit Merah estate and is looking for a full-day programme for my 3yo and 10mo. For convenient sake, I am considering the centre with both childcare and infant care, and only Cherie Hearts and Bloomberry with vacancies.
I am not so comfortable in Cherie Hearts as they are franchised business, so I went to Bloomberry yesterday for centre viewing.
The school is very new (started on Jul 2014) and clean. This is something that my wife likes as she prefer a clean environment for growing children. To me, I look at their curriculum and menu. They serve in-house food only. They also serve organics food every Wed (if I am not wrong) and western food every Friday, which I find it interesting, giving the kids with more variety choice.
Curriculum wise, besides the standard eng/chi/ math/ science/ art lesson, they teach Jolly phonics from N2 onwards. So I asked the principal about younger classes. Principal told us that they use another phonics set (Alphabet Zoo) that is easier for younger class to understand.
I saw the engagement between the teachers and children, which is also very important too. Surprise to see that all the children are having fun with the teachers. Their teacher to child ratio is small as the centre max cap is 40+.
Fees wise, I think it is reasonable ($780 after sub). I am not comparing void deck area with commercial.
My wife and I are quite keen as there are not many choices in redhill with both infant and childcare. Most probably will enrol by this week.
Any parents put their children with Bloomberry?
Any parents have better sch to recommend us before we enrol?
