Hi parents, anyone contemplated between between St Anthony's Canossian vs CHIJ Katong? Both sch have secondary sch affiliation which is on of my core consideration but IJ katong is further away from my place (wonder if ij is really worth the travelling). If got chance to join CHIJ Katong primary, should join there instead, come (P5 and P6).

Don't get yourself confused, it has nothing to do with the name \"CHIJ\" per say,

but

it is how some Tr teach in this school, in certain P6 class

Because

At end of P4, there is streaming.
If you get streamed to a better class, with good Teachers, good for you

On the other hand,
since this school is much closer to your house, in terms of distance travelling everyday, can save lots of precious time travelling, this is definitely true too

I would suggest St Anthony's Canossian purely on travelling for the next 10 years. Both are good schools with similar cut-off in Secondary. Unless you really want the name CHIJ, which doesn't really matter unless you are in St. Nicks.
10 years will save a lot of sleeping time.

Hi Davischew, agree ur point about saving the sleeping time. I was formerly an IJ girl too not st nicks nor katong though. I chance upon some comment about IJ katong's English standard quite high though they are not an elite sch, so was wondering if it's worthy of tht time investment to travel, for 10 years if not the first 6 years.

Hi parents, i am contemplating to send my girl to IJ Katong (I was formerly a IJ gal too). What is holding me back is the distance from IJ katong to my house at Tanah Merah (Changi area). Texted the bus coordinator of IJ katong to check what’s the bus arrival time roughly like for this area but coordinator not responsive.


Any parent stay same area as me and could advise the sch bus arrival time? Otherwise any pasir ris/tampines/simei residents who enrol ur girl to IJ Katong can also share what’s the school bus arrival time like?
