Just came back from Maldives and my kids really enjoyed our week long stay! We stayed couple nights at local island Maafushi where activities for whole family was much cheaper before moving to a more atas water villa. At the local islands, we bargained and paid USD90 for fishing trip and USD110 for snorkelling at 3 places cum dolphin cruise plus lunch at private sandbank. Other than snorkelling and fishing, we also went for massage. At the water villa resort, we of course paid much more. The price for one person for fishing alone already cost USD110! So my advice is if you are gonna be spending more than a couple days in Maldives, do all the activities you want at the local islands. And also please try to book accommodation with half board. (Eg. Breakfast and Dinner) Food is SOOOOO expensive and for me, not worth it. Am glad we brought plenty of instant noodles!
