      lousy-mom:
      :xedfingers:

      Dont say I'm bad.....
If there's no maid loan, I would buy a one way ticket and get rid of that maid. It is cheaper to buy an air ticket than to let agency earn money. My liabilty (guardianship) ends the moment her work permit is cancelled. Employer need to pay maid's accommodation when she's housed at agency, levy, insurance and salary of FDW who didn't work in your house. By allowing an unsuitable FDW to be recycled (transferred), I am doing a disservice to her new employer .... if that maid remains bad, unwilling to change her working attitude.

It is MOM's policies that stopped employers from telling the truth and allowing agencies from making easy profits by doing transfers. Employers and some FDWs (those who really needed a job, hardworking and sincere to help their employers by lightening their load) don't stand to gain. The biggest winner is definitely employment agencies (made humans as their tools) and MOM (nothing to lose).

Yes, we should join forces with people like Tamarind but the opposition (combine forces made up by activists, MOM/PAP, etc) is too powerful for us, we are merely salaried employee, not operating an organisation or big company... how to fight? :gloomy:

Just came across this TWC2 posting, discouraging us from telling the truth. They are trying whatsoever to cover the truth, what can we do?
      http://twc2.org.sg/2013/04/30/why-are-singapores-mums-demonising-maids-online/

The decision makers and activists are not keen to compare apple to apple. They simply pluck a salary and claimed FDWs are lowly paid, treated like slaves! They refused to add in levy, live-in costs (based on Spore living standard), insurance, high agency fee, maid loan, etc ... employer paying about S$1500 per month for their no-good FDWs' service.
Some of these NGOs like TWC2 are trying to be \"altruistic\" and arguing with them will only makes us look like slave-drivers. So, how to argue? :frustrated:

Unfortunately, MOM also being dragged into such a situation and hence, all these one-sided policies.

But I am glad that recently DPM Teo Chee Hean ticked off some of these NGOs with regards to the PRC bus drivers who went on strike and alleged abuse by the Singapore police. These NGOs were warned not to make unsubstantiated statements. :pokeeye:

So hope these NGOs will shut up for their own good. :rahrah:

What do you expect? These NGOs are full of people who think that only lazy and el cheapo people employ FDWs. If people cannot afford to employ a butler (or a nurse if they need to take care of infirm family members), they should do their own household chores, right?

MOM gets levy for nothing done...yet do not help employers when they have problems with maids...maid agencies get to enjoy another sum when maids are returned and have change of employer.

These maids don't have to pay anything...got food and accommodation. When sick, see doc also no need to pay. Got attitude problem, just show black face. If employer scolds, vent on kids or elderly. Should he/she hit, call MOM.

              Shiok right?
:salute: super agree! When MOM will give fair treatment to us? Then US got unfair treatment will MOM help? I shld change pass..port?

Maybe if you get abused and it gets recorded…somebody might just step in.

I think we should also follow what HK is practicing. If maid no good, send back and not transfer to another employer. In this way, maid is aware what she can or cannot do and bear some consequence if she gets deported back.

I have known some experienced maids who are not willing to go HK because of such even they know the salary there is higher. To them, some part of risk involved.

Here, some maids simply take us as a stepping stone to come for a short period, under perform so that we can send back to agent then get to "pick" their preferred employer.

                      Hey lousy-mum/June mum,

I agree 200% to what you posted. :rahrah:
Why should we be subjected to these maids' poor attitudes when we have pay for their food & accommodation ? If we have poor work attitude in the office, we will be sacked. These maids should be taught to show respect to their employers.

Definitely, something should be done with the fresh maids coming in...Singaporean employers often have to train them from scratch...and then these maids think they are damn good and want to work in HKG and Taiwan after that. If maids cannot perform, then they should be sent home...and not have the mentality that they can choose employers.
