Hi Angry Parent, Mrs Amir, the English teacher, is doing a fantastic job! She provides weekly updates of what the children have been taught in class. Responsible and dedicated teacher.

The other thing is they are having their 1.6m run test next week. Wondering if the child feels breathless, will the PE teacher insist that the child continues?Don't want another tragedy to happen in school like the SCGS incident.

You may wish to advise your child the following:
      1) do not shoot off like 100m dash at onset
      2) run at a continuous, even pace
      3) slow down if needed, but avoid walking
      4) refrain from talking during the run
      5) cool down after run by jogging on spot and slowly come to stop.
This avoid burnout and attain better results. My boy came in 2nd for the last few practice run. That is to say a lot for a non-runner.

There are so many posts now since I posted in 2009 when my son balloted into MTS. Looks like more MTS parents are more active in this forum now. πŸ™‚

Sadly, I am back as I was searching for info to reconsider the viability of staying on in the school. Too much disappointment. Not sure is it my children or the school, or maybe me! Hiaks.

To reply someone's queries on PSG, it is very lacking. I had tried on few occasions (over last few years) to find out more about joining and helping in PSG to no avail. Recently there seems some improvement may happen, though school (mgt) may be reluctant. Hoping with bated breath.

Mrs Amir, was Ms Amalina, is now the new EL teacher for 4-6 & 4-7, in replacement of the prev teacher on leave. She was previously my son's form teacher in P2. I am thankful everyday since the change, that we have her back in our life. She is a rare gem among her peers. Those parents who had her for class will be able to see the difference.

My children are in 4-6 & 1-3 this year. If you are keen to connect, belong to same classes or enthusiastic to lobby for a truly active PSG for MTS, pls pm me and we can discuss further πŸ™‚

Hi Shoe Button, I am keen on the PSG. Was trying hard to get myself involved in the school and making contacts around on what are the requirements for it.

Hope the news of the feedback recently will be able to stir some activities to the existing PSG and awaiting for the invite to the coming Vesak Day & Sports Carnival Day for assistance.

Great! If more parents are keen and committed to the real meaning of PSG, we will be able to be a bigger collective voice to the school.

Will share more if I have more info.
Meantime, those who are keen, pls pm me. Cheers!

            Hi,

Would like to confirm if Mee Toh is on single session (P1 & P2) since 2013? The school website did not update the school hours and recess time and still show 2012. Will be registering my gal at MTS under 2A2 next week. Any news on Mee Toh student care services, it is going to operate in 2014?

Mee Toh has started operating on single session since January this year. Pupils report to school at 7.15 a.m. for flag raising and lessons begin at 7.30 a.m. Classes end at 1.30 p.m. daily.

The school is studying the demand of the services expected in an in-house Student Care Centre. They are conducting a survey to gauge what services to offer when the centre opens in 2014. The school has set aside rooms in the new indoor sports hall block to house the SCC.

              Hope this helps!

                Hi,

My son is currently studying at Mee Toh School this year (2013). He is from class P1-6. Any parents with child from the same class? Probably, we can have the contacts and can exchange ideas on how to improve their study or anything that our child is missed out during the lesson time.

Kindly whats app me @ 94758224 or email me @ [email protected].

Hope to hear from all the P1-6 parents. Cheers!!!

encountered the same thing again this year, submitted SBL letter but rejected by MTS without any reason! :stompfeet: Wondering how the Sch Management committee make the selection.

Will write letter to MOE but do not think MOE will help anything as such things happened in MTS almost every year.

                  Silversword:
                  vipamanda:

[quote=\"Smurfling\"]Hi Charmaine, Gimago, Silverword & everyone who are rejected,
Our application via clan is also rejected. No reason no whatever is even offered to us. Spoke to the Sch Principal & 2 VPs, they keep biting on the Sch Management Committee makes the selection and they knows nothing about it.
Called up BL and the so called \"chu jia ren\" is so super rude and keeps complaining that we are disturbing him and can't ask anything from him at all!!!!

We are just asking for mere transparency in the selection process of those who are selected via clan route. Why out of the many who applied, these 12 applicanats are selected? Why can't a fair ballot be done to select the 12? Best still is all should all who are eligible under P2B - PV, RC & clan
associated applicants should be ballot together to be ABSOLUTELY FAIR?
We can't just sit here and accept our fate without even putting up a fight or at least find out the truth. We can't just let the school gets away scotfree like this?

Does anyone being rejected by MTS without a valid reason at Phase 2B going to ask the MTS fir reason? Will MTS ignore those rejected parents? Does anyone raise this matter to MOE?

Should we write a letter to MOE or MP for this.

Look at the vacancy by phases, you will realise that there are parent who enter 2B phase give out their seats. Which resulted to an increase on 2C phase from orginally 67 to 70.

While parent like us who really wish our kid to enter the school was not even given a chance in 2B with valid letter from BL.

Anyway,I have register my son with another school. However, I am willing to help out for the sake of furture parent going by this route.

Can I check the letter endorsement is for phase 2B? Did u serve as members over at SBL for at least 2 yrs? Just curious does the letter indicated your date join..

Hi Parents, any of your kids from Pri 1-4 class this year? I am thinking of linking up parents together to update/sync up ourselves for things our little lovely one could have forgotten or missed out to record it down while in school. keen to drop me a line at [email protected], will gather and share the parents of Pri1-4 mobile numbers (with consent), maybe a whatapps group.
