My LG washer just couldn't power on 2 weeks ago.

I bought the extended warranty from Best Denki. So they have a contractor to take the washer and it would take 1 or 2 weeks to fix.
        Hi

Has your LG washer been repaired and back home? How was the LG service?
Any problems with your extended warranty from Best Denki?

When we were shopping for a washer, we understand from the salespersons that the extended warranty from Best Denki is not as comprehensive as others.

My washer came back, working fine now. Best Denki extended warranty covers my washer’s mother board, so I did not have to pay for anything. I don’t know how much the mother board would cost.

Best Denki extended warranty is a contractor that is enagaged by Best Denki. They are not LG company staff or LG appointed contractors.

I don’t know if it’s a LG thing, I can’t seem to get the gunk completely out from behind the gasket. There is a slight smell.

I need to replace my 7kg, 8yr old, Panasonic top load washing machine. Am considering a 8kg Panasonic front load. Am concerned about the long wash cycles. Any inputs or comments on whether I should switch to a front load (I like the hot water wash) and has anyone tried a front load Panasonic? I need to buy a machine urgently or have to resort to self service laundromats

:thankyou: sundaymorning, Osim, Imami, st2, for sharing.

We went shopping for a washer and liked the feel of the Electrolux. Perhaps, because we had an Electrolux before so it felt comfortable. However, the 8 kg made Italy model which we liked was discontinued and unavailable. Left the \"made in Thailand\" models. Heard the new models will be launched end of April or May, so the remaining ones are sold at discounted price - actually good time to buy ELectrolux if happy with available models.

In the end, we settled on a LG 8kg front load made in Thailand washer. Total cost of LG washer (including 3 yrs extended warranty ) still less than cost of the 8 kg \"made in Thailand\" Electrolux ( without extended warranty ), Plus LG has 10 year warranty on motor. A friend said her washer repairman recommended LG. Hope we made the right decision.

Looking forward to delivery of washer - my Phil helper showing black face after only 1 day of hand washing. Hope this washer will be reliable. :xedfingers: 🙏
Hi, how's your new LG 8kg washer doing? Is it working well for you so far? The 10 year warranty on the motor sounds good to me. Can I know the model to your washer?

My 5 year plus 7kg Electrolux frontload washer just call it quits after 2 times of repair with extended warranty. Intend to get another Electrolux 8kg washer selling at good price until I read about your LG. Appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

My previous front load was an Ariston that lasted 7 years. At my cousin’s house, Whirlpool. I’ve never had this smell problem nor my cousin.

The LG I have now which my friend also bought, have bad smell problems. It’s the gunk that is on the rubber gasket, the hidden part.

I use Persil. Used fabric softener maybe 3 times because it was a free sample. I use Bounce in my dryer. I don’t understand why this happens.

Maybe the high spin speed, spins semi-dry the gunk; gets stuck on the rubber, or this particular rubber material get this way.

When I called LG, they said that I have to do tub clean for 3 days consecutively and then every week once. If I used Fabric softener all the time, maybe that could be the cause, but I don’t. My friend chucked their LG and bought a new front load when they move house.

Clothes/towels washed in this front load looks very worn and feels rough, I’ve checked my detergent dose and already going so low; so it can’t be a detergent issue.

I never had this problem with my Ariston or my cousin’s Whirlpool before. Clothes are in good condition, never like this.

can’t contribute much, except to advise against getting Hitachi washing machine.

the one i got when i moved 1.5 yr ago, had 2 repairs already, all within 13 months. The voice navigation was gone on both occasions and they replaced the motherboard. Coins can get through the drum and get stuck. Once dd’s hairclip slipped through and just nice, jammed the drain stopper, and water just drained off slowly, even when washing…

the person who sold the machine to me told me that this happens cos it was made in china (or was it thailand/indonesia - can’t remember as it’s been a while). She said that this will not have happened for the old made-in-japan models - but those are of course more expensive.

I settled for the Electrolux 8kg front load washer after inquiring about the LG direct drive washer. Learnt that direct drive is very hard on the motor, gets burnt easily…thus a 10 year warranty is given. So foresee fixing the motor more often during its working span.

So far, fine with my washer. Hoping it can last min 5 years, any extra is bonus. Got resigned to the fact that electrical items are no longer built to last…even the good and expensive ones made in Germany/France.

Actually washers that are used for too long a time will have hygiene issues. Quite impossible to really get rid of the dirt and gunk stuck within the machine no matter how frequent you clean it, not forgetting the musty smell too.

After all, electronics are so cheap now, so mindset has to change. Buy, use, discard. Nothing is made to last now, even for relationships.

                      Hi. Just read the posts.

Hope your Electrolux washer serves you well. :xedfingers: My Electrolux washer lasted more than 10 years ... but that was in the good old days.

My feedback on LG washer. Had some issues with a particular program which gave inconsistent wash time for the same load of clothes. It would show 3+ hours and then is switch off and on, it would give a 1+ hour wash time for same load. My machine was replaced but problem persisted. In the end, I gave up and used other programs to wash. That's my only negative point.

So far, the washer is performing well. It's very quiet compared to my previous European made Brandt. I wash most of the time using rpm 800, clothes are fine. I feel that the clothes get stretched too much at rpm 1400, though I use this spin speed 1400 for towels and mattress protectors sometimes. The laundry feels less rough and softer than when previously washed with my Brandt. I use TOP detergent and don't use softener.

I wipe dry the rubber seal after each day's wash and always leave the doors of my washers open for ventilation. I also wash an empty wash cycle at the highest temperature setting ( 90 degrees ) every once or two months - this was suggested to me by the Electrolux technician many years ago. So far so good, I've not had a musky smell in my washers. :xedfingers:

My washing machine gave way liao.

Don’t know which brand and most important their reliable service centre.

Were using Fisher & Pykel 10kg. I think the load I put in sometimes more than 10kg. There is nothing wrong with the brand. The main issue is the service centre. They only specified by area, north area is only between 3-6pm. No other timings are not available. Ridiculous policy.

For those using Bosch, how was the service centre attitude?
