Yes. During the talk where parents/students went to the secondary school to collect the CO/WL, the principal requested that anyone with CO who decided not to join the school before the deadline (e.g., the student got a CO from another school subsequently) to inform the school asap. For these rare cases, the WL was converted to CO before PSLE Release.

It happened a few years ago and other parents shared that it also happened in subsequent year or two.

I have not heard about such cases during the last 2 years so I am not sure if any school still practises this now.

Were all of these cases before the centralized portal in 2019? As you allude to, it may not be possible now.

Last year it did seem like some schools were calling around to assess whether student has other offers and will he/she actually accept. May be an attempt to accomplish much of the same.

Some schools may have different dates for releasing COs/WLs for different talent areas. E.g., COs/WLs for Sports a few days earlier than Academic. Some would receive \"verbal\" COs in advance too (usually for Sports).

Not that I heard of. The student will receive PSLE results and take part in the Secondary 1 posting process just like those students who did not participate in DSA.

Actually if the WL did not convert to CO in the end. The S1 posting form will indicated the unsuccessful of DSA result. And, if the WL converted to CO, you won't even have the chance to see the S1 option form.

My friend's kid got rejected by first choice, but offered WL for 2nd choice during DSA. Somehow his PSLE came out excellent and he got into his first choice school via s1 posting and felt lucky that the WL did not convert to CO. As you need to submit the WL before the PSLE result is out and if it converted into CO then u need to honor it.

That's the latest date by which results will be out but schools can release results sooner, as you've seen from this thread.
