She probably meant SOTA. I think SOTA's students get in primarily via DSA. The selection process is quite intensive.
You are right about IB, its a totally different way of learning. Some kids seem to fare better in IB after switching to it based on some of my friends experience. You may want to do more research and find out if it will suit your kid. Dont know about SATA though. -

Thanks for your reply!
I think (not absolutely sure) that the ACSI boys are only exempted from UG if they are in a Sports CCA on a competitive basis (whether DSA in or otherwise).
All the best to your DS![/quote] -
I have a question regarding this portion in the MOE website:
\"4.Your child's primary school information will automatically be shared with the applied DSA-Sec school(s). This information includes your child's P5 and P6 academic results, Co-curricular Activities (CCA), Values in Action (VIA) involvement, School-based achievements and awards such as Edusave awards, NAPFA result, National School Games and Junior Sports Academy participation. You do not need to input this information.
5. You may provide information on non-school based activities and achievements, which are related to your child's chosen talent areas. This section is non-compulsory, with a limit of 10 entries and no supporting documents are needed.\"
My question:
In my kid's report book i can see details about his participation in contests like Science Busker and NMOS, though technically these are not conducted within the school but they were signed up by the school.
So, will these fall under point no.4 or 5? As in will these be automatically shared with the applied DSA school or do i provide it as one of the 10 entries? -
Hello, do you know any school which has DSA for drums?
-
If the contest is registered thru school and reflected in report book, considered school-based and automatically shared per pt (4)
Personally, I have to admit that for my girl’s submission last year, I was in kiasu mode filling the form. As we applied for both art and leadership, it was a like complete resume including arts, music, talent competitions, sports, debate, leadership/community activities etc. maybe max 15-20% of points written could have overlapped with (4) -

It would be great to hear from parents of students in National Junior College. This is one of the school that seems to have strong math and science curriculum, I am looking for math/science/stem DSA schools for my son in P6 this year

I've heard good things about the NUS High School for Maths and Science https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2055371#p2055371. Why don't you consider that too?
