      Gathering opinions:

If there are a combinations of IP, top mainstream and average mainstream schools offering the same DSA domain, would all applicants inclined towards the IP schools/ top mainstream schools ? I don’t think they would apply with the average mainstream schools instead?
If my child’s score is expected to be in N(A) or N(T) stream, I would try DSA into an average mainstream school. Not IP or top Express schools. There is still a “target market”.

Wouldn’t you consider DSA into top mainstream school like Anderson/ Bt Panjang with N stream?

Yes I would. And even (Christian/Catholic) schools with Normal stream like Fairfield, Presbyterian High, KCPSS, ACS Barker, PLMGSS, CHIJ TPY, St Margs.

Does it mean below average main stream schools would
have no DSA applicants even for student likely to qualify for N streams?

No, some parents prioritise distance from home, or specific CCAs, or choose schools about which they have heard good things from friends and relatives.

Still will have small number of applicants. Wont be 0. MOE has previously released some stats which mentioned all secondary schools had received DSA applicants, even neighborhood secondary schools.

Read some examples in this article: mentioned are Woodgrove Sec, Zhonghua Sec, Evergreen Sec.

Oh... you are talking about DSA into the N stream. Wouldn't that be tantamount to simply surrendering and saying the kid will not be good enough to get into Express? Sorry... I'm confused. :scratchhead:

I think…in those schools with triple track (Exp/NA/NT) the CO is for the school. So if score is unexpectedly better then school may allow higher track? Anyway subject based banding will kick in for all schools within next few years.

On top of that, if you look into SchoolFinder, you will find several neighborhood schools with AL8 being admitted into the school, and that’s AFTER results were known.

Not everyone prioritize IP / top schools. Some just want to throw stones at their schools from the bedroom windows.
