MGS Netball is out! My DD receives her CO. So happy since this is the school she wants!
-
Received MGS too but SEC (Olevel). The other 2 DSA schools offering IP. Which one to choose?
Wondering if SEC is easier then next time if get good results for SEC can go back to IB ACSI or even if results not good then can go to international schools for IB?
Or should not take the risk and just accept school with IP seeing that preparing for PSLE is also very tiring. But then again prefer to take IB than A levels in the future cuz don’t want to put all stakes into 1 A level exam but the thought of preparing for SEC in another 4 years also tiring. Sigh -
Hi, anyone receive any DSA updates from SCGS?
-
From what I understand, students doing the O level programme in schools which offer the IP or IB have the chance to switch to the IP/IB path if they do well enough in the Sec 2 exams. Might be something you want to find out more about before making your decision! It's a tough choice, but congrats to your DD for getting 3 COs!

Tough call but not a bad spot to be in (congrats :rahrah: ). There's a lot of considerations; here are some initial thoughts.

#1. IP (A) or SEC (O) to JAE: we can't know for sure because kids change / develop on their own and it's still a one-time test in S4. But we may have some idea on how likely it is we can get IB via the SEC (O) track? There is also SJI or the local int'l schools to try in Year 11-12 as well. I think there are a few transfers in S3 to IP (IB), but the last I saw the number is not large (maybe other current parents can confirm).
#2. If there is a strong preference for one of the schools and/or the domain within the school, I will probably go there, irrespective of the track. Not sure what domain you are dealing with, but I think for any specific domain sometimes there is a strong preference for a particular school.
Ultimately, whatever decision the child wants / is on board with is the best choice. Best of luck and regards.
