Just received National Junior College STEM interview email for next week Thursday.

Just curious, normally CO is through email or phone call?

@revils_ling
If your son and you strongly believe NUSH is the best school for him, he can try SIE with PSLE score or Y3 admission. All the best!

@melting_starz did u check your inbox and spam? They would have sent the emails to both addresses provided in the initial DSA application. I spent dinner time feeling dejected before I was ready to break the bad news to my kid. Mainly because this was a school I always thought would fit him well, ever since I read about it 6-7 years ago. But maybe I was wrong? Whatever the case, he’ll have to face the music again in school today since at least 5 of his peers have received good news yesterday morning. And at the end of today, we’ll still be able to feel happy for his friends, and he’ll still be able to get on with his prelims + psle prep.
Thanks for being on this short lived journey with us! All the best for your DC for SST!

For now, I’m not too sure if my kid still wants to go ahead for SST camp, especially since he hasn’t decided what he wants to do for the 1-min show n tell yet.

Yes in the end we received the email at 6.30pm. Same here I was also feeling sad about it. Guess because he made it through to the camp so I got my hopes higher. I knew about the school 6 years ago too and thought it will be great for him. He’s so into science he can talk to me all day long about random science topics. However he is not an all-rounder so I am still thinking whether it is still possible to apply SIE. Nush stated recommended AL4 to 6 which is quite far from my son’s grades. What a dilemma.

Thanks for your selfless sharing on this forum especially when this year is really very quiet on KSP. Did everyone move to another platform or something I wonder? Also wishing all the best for your DS for PSLE & SST!

I think he should give it a try. My son says it’s fun. As for the show and tell, there is still time to prepare after oral. Depending on whether you have existing projects to show for steam, robotics etc. We did not attend such classes so my son just drew a prototype of his idea and presented it.

Hi
I received a confirmed offer. But I am confused about what they wrote:“Your child has a reserved place but subject to him achieving a PSLE score that qualifies him for a posting group offered by the school”.
Two questions:
-
If my kid can achieve a score that qualify him for the posting group in that school, wouldn’t it means he won’t need the DSA in the first place?
-
I also read in the Oct selection exercise, it says if your child has more than 1 offer, please indicate the choice of school in order of preference. If it is confirmed offer, wouldn’t it means just indicating the first choice is enough? Why would we need to put down second or third choices?
Appreciate if anyone can help to clarify.
Thanks in advance. -

@RB55 Hi, answers to your questions on MOE website:
-
Posting group range is greater than cut off score.

Some people may get a WL at their preferred school. It is possible to select the WL school as first choice and the CO school as their second choice.
