After giving up most of my herbs and neglecting my plants for the last 2 years due to busier work schedule, my garden has been in shambles and my plants were mostly sick. I started tending to them again a few months back. Had to use pesticides on most of my ornamentals to get rid of aphids and mealy bugs. Fed the soil with phosphorus and some rather funky smelling organic fertilizers. 😓 Sorry neighbours, need good fertilizers to help the plants grow strong and fight off pests. Pest free in my garden also mean pest free in yours lah. Until I was sure that the pests were under control then I started with my herbs.

Now that the herbs are doing fine, I am growing some tomatoes and chilli padi. No veg yet. Waiting for the weather to cool to start some arugula. Not gonna try growing anymore bitter gourd. The last time we grew them they went wild cos helper threw the seeds into one of my large planters and we did not contain it's growth. Climbed all the way up the tree and fruited way up where we could not reach. Then it ripened and exploded, spewing its seeds everywhere. That was 4yrs ago. Until last year we were still pulling out random bitter gourd seedlings that sprouted in our various planters. In any case, I am the only one who likes bitter gourd so no point growing them.

Thing is an edible garden tend to look more messy. So whenever I look at my garden and my neighbour's mine looks like a jungle while theirs is nicely manicured with all sorts of pretty blooms.

I will enjoy eating without vinegar...don't like the smell of it. so when ordering bak chor outside, I always tell the stall NO VINEGAR.

My me time on the weekends is washing dishes and doing the laundry - DH and I toss for it. On the bright side, the dishes have never been so promptly washed as before we had kids. (My me time on the weekdays is work…)
