I like TP too..I have packed away my slow cooker.
Thermal pot is good as we can have a dinner at home timely even though I am not around to cook in the day. Sometime depend on the type of food. For oxtail type of food which requires longer cooking time, I usually start cooking at night and put into the TP. Boil in the morning before before I leave. Come back home for dinner, boil again before dinner. The meat will fall off the bone. Super nice and tender without me tending to it much over the fire. -

wow so many TPs..and I certainly envy you have your boys at home..could eat much..TPs come very handy for you. My 3.5l pot of soup could last us 2 meals
MKS, just this year alone I have started using the Thermal Pots They are very useful especially when one has such a busy schedule and also in time for cooked food for the family. I have 2 2L 2-tier pots, 1 3L pot and 1 4.5L pot and personally I feel that having more serves me well in terms of choices when cooking different types of food.
For a 4.5L pot which is big, I can easily cooked 2 types of dishes in it by simply putting a steam rack and placed another dish on top. Stew chicken at the bottom and another braised pork at the top. Easily done. Then 3L pot for soup.
4.5L pot for double boil bird nests and fungus dessert or chicken soup.
3L for porridge or soups
2L for chicken stew and steam eggs
Even though both the 4.5L and 3L pots doesn't come with an insert, you can still put in your own insert by placing a steam rack.
Hope this helps
3.5l pot can put a whole chicken before cutting when I cook chicken rice. I got a 3.5l for my mom too.
I m very tempted to get a 2 inner pots one. How do you put the steaming rack? bottom filled with water and 1 rack on it plus another dish on the upper inner pot arh? -

I assume you mean to ask how I put the steaming rack in the 3L and 4.5L.

Bottom cooked another dish and buy a high high steaming rack with round curve leg (to prevent scratching the inner pot) and then placed a bowl of dish. All done in the inner pot. -
I don’t really like the 1.5L Thermos pot as it has a small mouth. Very difficult to handle in terms of stiring.
I prefer the wide-mouth TP. -

Try it. Very useful.
Recently cooked 滷肉飯 at the bottom and top steam tofu. Shiok. All in 3L even though it is not a 2-tier. -

Has anyone heard about this year's NTUC textbook donation drive? I can't find any announcement online. I just helped a friend clear her sons' school books (she's moving house) and she has a lot to donate.
