Office less busy at year end is the best. Can plan for holiday when kids in school. Best if the less busy period extended to CNY!
The company will retrench you once they find out you are not so busy most of the time. :nailbite:

Esteema, slmkhoo & zac's mom..thanks for the container info. At first just thinking of where to keep the plastic containers next time..need also consider the durability & problems with the caron boxes.
If you have a store room, that's the obvious place for the big boxes, I suppose. You could have smaller ones stashed in other rooms, e.g. under beds, on high shelves, stacked in unused corners, etc. And remember to label them with a rough description of what's inside! I have boxes with translucent sides and put the lists (written in dark marker pen) on the inside, pressed against the side of the box. They can be read through the sides, and I don't have to keep opening boxes to see what's in the middle or at the bottom.

ours is lull wk; have been relaxing since 18 Dec ...
Everything is shutting or closing down for year-end.
Our office decided that staff will take compulsory leave this week since almost everyone was applying for leave anyway. No point staying open, and we can do urgent things from home if necessary.

I'm planning to push on with my own project this week. Trying very hard to get started, but it's so difficult to get going!

            Belated Merry Christmas!

Got back from our overseas vacation on the 23rd. Practically ate and drank our way through Kyushu. Then came home and continued with the eating and drinking over xmas eve and xmas.

Received another nice surprise in the mail from MOE for DS. The last Edusave award he will get.

Time to get back to my daily walks and IF.

Now getting into the year end rush to prepare for 2024. Lots of HR, Accounts and admin stuff to do.

am glad our office doesnt implement taking compulsory leave despite lesser workload this wk or two.
I took the chance to declutter my working area and dumped a lot of old documents ...

We moved office in 2018 and 2020, so a lot of old stuff got dumped then! And we've gone largely digital since then, thankfully. We could probably do with a digital cleanout, but no-one wants to face that.

Digital documents dont occupy as much space as physical or hard-copies.
Even the hard-copies, we hv to shred before dumping.
Hence if we can avoid dumping, we will avoid due to the extra chore.

Shredding was a nightmare - we had a fairly old, low capacity shredder, and it kept overheating. So we had to allow it to rest every so often. We remind people not to accumulate stuff but shred more frequently, but not sure if anyone is listening. Anyway, they shouldn't be moving again for many years, and I won't be overseeing the move by then!
