You see, the supermarkets want you to spend more time in the shop browsing and looking for stuff, so you buy more? :rotflmao:

but seriously, what I miss most about supermarkets in the US and UK are the wide aisles!
Never works on me! I shop with a list, and am very focused. My family knows that if they don't get their requests on the list, it doesn't get bought!

By the end of my time in the UK, I was using those trolleys that could hold a baby and a toddler. No way those could work in Singapore. Even 2 of their regular trolleys won't fit in Sg supermarket aisles.

It is just a habit haha. My mom can make very nice AKK. A friend (sell AKK) taught her many years ago but asked her to promise not to teach anyone.. my mom told her if teach also only her children. I haven't learn it.

:rotflmao: and the ability of you getting $80 round fig total is luck or efforts?
No lah... it was just pure luck. Today I went to another NTUC to get another voucher. This time I underestimated the cost which was only $77 :faint: . So I kalang-kabut at the counter and just topped up to $84 with cookies. Should have just bought one but I got 2 instead because I thought the cookies were only $2 but it turned out to be $3+ each! Damn.

😂 That’s how NTUC earns your money! Anyhow top up with cookies.

You can bring back 1 of the 2 cookies, with your receipt for refund. 😂

I believe some of us are falling into a trap which I call it as "promotion create demand". We might not really need all the items in this $80 now but we want to buy all these items now because of the promotion. For example, those items which I really need now is only $70 however because of the promotion, I need to buy something more than $10 to get the promotion of $8. Even though we may just buying extra toilet rolls which have no expiry days, but we are already paying the storage charges for the supermarket.

Back to what happened here, 2 packets of unwanted cookies which cost $6 are bought in order to gain a $8 voucher, is it a good deal to do so?

I agree with you about the cookies, but maybe CKS can use that as part of a CNY gift to someone he normally gives a gift to. As long as the person isn't on KSP, they won't know!

For the toilet paper example, if they are the usual brand that would be purchased sooner or later anyway, and there's space in the home, I would look at it as beating inflation! I read/hear accounts about people saving their CDC vouchers for later, or spending them gradually over the year - if prices keep rising, $10 will buy less by the end of the year. That's one of the reasons my family uses up the vouchers early - we won't purposely spend on things just to use up the vouchers, but whenever we buy things at supermarkets/hawker centres/neighbourhood shops, we will use the vouchers if we can.

I think the government shouldn't have given $500 all at once, and they should have a word with the supermarkets about their promotions. These make people spend more at once, and probably less wisely. They could have held back the additional $200 for another couple of months.

This week feeling quite busy with some spring cleaning first few days then the push to make a decision that has been kept on the shelf for several years. Did feel a little overwhelming yesterday …spoke to 2 people. This morning continued with the feeling of stress…finally start putting them down in writing. Dh always tell me to write but the stubborn me always never listen. Who knows, when put it down on excel can come out with 8 combinations excluding the current one. I told myself next time just be less stubborn, 有好处的。

Next week can continue with some of my outstanding works then time to give more care and time to dd…dh has been very worry kept telling me to spend more time with dd…and this morning asked if he should fly back fm his work assignment to give dd some emotional support… i told him no need la.
