Me Time!

@slmkhoo People left this forum because they feel they are being treated unfairly and are not respected by the admin and other members.

@slmkhoo
Yes. One of the possible problem is that the forum is reverse coded, that is, it lists the most recent post first. This is not the same as the previous forum where posts are listed in ascending order. That is why it gets confusing.I would like a poll. Do people prefer the old listing by ascending order of post date, or do you want to stick to the current listing by reversed order (most recently shown first)?
-
@ChiefKiasu reverse coding is definitely a problem. It is confusing. I prefer older listing on top, new postings below. This is what most forums do.
The UIUX of kiasuparents forum is clumsy. You should take a look at HWZ EDMW forum to see why it is successful.
Apart for UIUX, the contents is also important. EDMW allows a broad spectrum of topics to be discussed. Kiasuparents is strong on content for education only. The questions you have to ask is, do you want kiasuparents to go in the direction of EDMW.
Just my 2 cents… since I was passing by. Me old user.

On a side note, is there anything/more that can be done to weed out and/or prevent spam accounts? I haven’t encountered them on other forums I’m on. Might be just me - but they kinda mess up and “pollute” the forum and affect it’s image (esp. when some includes offensive/obscene messages).

-
@ChiefKiasu YES!!! Definitely prefer the old way.

@Liew-Nga-Wing Did I miss something? Not sure what you are referring to.

This is probably my very first post in KSP after its revamp.
Pardon my harsh language but really, the new KSP format is absolutely horrendous. Initially I had problems locating where is ME TIME. Had to click on Recess Time to get here. Except for old timers here, how many new to KSP would know what the hell is Recess Time, where the most active thread is hidden.
At least for the previous format, we could clearly see which topics were hot and being discussed currently, which will automatically attract people to come in to join in the discussion and post, making the discussion livelier.
Today, majority of those newly created threads contain only one single post with no response. This forum is basically “inactive”. An inactive forum like this will likely die off in no time. So what is the point of the reform? To render the once informative and even influential KSP forum inactive?
-
@slmkhoo 冰冻三尺,非一日之寒, you did not miss anything, just take this chance to say out some feelings of those left.

不贪爱好的感受,不憎恨怀的感受,就是保持平等心。就会看到春去秋来,没有永远的寒冬,也没有永远的春天。回归自然,回归平淡的幸福

@slmkhoo To add on to this post:
Another thing I miss is the “New unread posts” or whatever it was called - for regular users, it was so much easier to go through that list than to remember which specific threads we were following. Can we have something like that again?
