My daughter is in Sec 1 this year.

For my daughter’s school (neighbourhood school), all parents assemble at the hall and the principal announced the top 3 and those scored above 250 to go up the stage and with some statistic. This was around 11am. After this announcement, all the rest of the students went back to their respective classroom and their form teacher distriputed the result slip to the students. Parents were asked to stay at the foyer and wait for your child to come down. By 12pm, my daughter came down with the result slip. We were asked to collect the PSLE certificate 2 weeks later.

Based on the PSLE pattern, result of secondary school posting should be on 21/12/12. MOE will SMS you the result as early as 6am… so be prepare. Secondary school orientation should be on 23/12/12. All students wear their primary school uniform to the secondary school. All textbooks and uniforms are available on this day, you should get everything done by 1pm. I bought 3 sets of school uniform for my daughter.

Btw, for selection of secondary school, try to choose a school that is closest to your child’s PSLE score. Try not to appeal because it is really troublesome. I have friend appealing for her child and i can see the hassle.

I can understand how the parents are feeling now…Even after I knew my daughter’s PSLE result, I also feel nervous on the outcome of the secondary school selection.

Anyway, whatever is the result, do give your child a big hug, they deserve it. Life does not just depend on this result…

Well said. Don't give them anymore pressure. I was at an open house last weekend, there were many art pieces show cased. They were beautiful. The sad part was at least 60 - 70% of them depicted the stress, the frustration of a student's life. Somewhat like the art piece which won the UOB award. I asked the teacher why the kids are not happy?

The teacher said that apart from school work, they were also emotionally stressed as they go thru puberty, transition from pr to sec school....

Hug our kids, love our kids....they are OUR kids :grphug:
