GEPpers are human too, so they can fail Maths, like other students 😄

Lazy kids, whether GEPpers or not, can fail math due to lack of practice and familiarity with test/exam qns.
Of course there are also other reasons, so don't see why it should be a surprise that there are kids who fail Maths.

You have the point. As my kid entered to the sec sch beg this year. The teacher told them about 20% co-hort failed mathematics. The students scored 260 above to enter into this school. Not sure aggregate for DSA students. GEPpers also can fail Maths?

So at least it is somehow a comfort for small fish to survive in big pond. The fact big fish will not survive due to some reasons.

Models is like "visualised" algebra or algebra in pictorial form. You can take a look at Dr. Yeap Ban Har’s from model to algebra published by Shinglee to get an idea.

My son has been a small fish in a big pond...despite the difficulties, he got into express stream...no offence to anyone ok?

So if he can eventually be a big fish in a small pond, that would boost his confidence.

hi,

can someone advise on this:-
score 256
first choice-National Junior College (CUP-258)
second Choice-River Valley (CUP-254)
third choice-normal sec wothout IP

in this case, will she high chance get into River Valley or she will get third choice? since NJC she doesnt met the COP. thanks.

Which sch are you aiming? NJC or RV?

On Dec 19, you will receive SMS most probably Option 2. Ask you to report the next day to RV.
If NJC is the dream school. After RV orientation, straightaway go to NJC take an appeal form and prepare all the photocopy documents.
Most probably NJC will accept. Boy or Girl?

Girl.Aiming for NJC.
Girl or boy matters?

Girl or boy matters? usually it does, we all know that boys tend to mature later than girls.

Is it too late to check my dd results with moe?

How do I go about doing it?
What is the success rate?
Any parents had the experience of doing it and was successful?

Thanks.

Is this information from a reliable source? Surprising as the school has been performing reasonably well past 2 years.
Are we talking about the highest score here ? Then, it is not true. A girl I had been tutoring got 240. And I know that even though they did not reveal the top score, there were around 20 students who scored above 250 😄
thank god :stupid: do you know what is the top score ?
Not as yet; none of the students knew that day. But I am sure word will slowly leak out sooner or later.

Ha I have the same thinking as you till my ds went into sec sch then ...wow...marginally passed only. In fact, half the class marginally passed too. Yes, model and algebra are very different thinking. One good in model doesn't mean can grab the concept of algebra. Like my ds, he's very puzzled why needs so many abc, prq, xyz in one equation. He took half a year to fully understand algebra and applied.
