Just to share my experience over the weekend at JE branch.

I was the JE branch to do the assessment for my kid.

Teacher Rebecca was a nice lady who is able to make my extreamly shy and sleepy gal to go thru the assesment.

However there was like the school in-charge / administrator who is stern looking and of cos looked & sounded totally unfriendly to me. Let’s call her Ms.IC

When I was at the entrance of the school helping my elder on off her sister’s pram, she popped her head out and said

Ms. IC: Sorry, no pram allow inside.
I: Huh? OK. I’m her for the assessment.
Ms. IC: Too cramp inside here. Have your helper to look after the pram. (refering to outside of the school)
I: (thinking: she can see my helper is carrying my #2 (1 year old) how could she be helping to look after the pram in the heat outside the school?) No Thanks, I’ll just keep it here.

I step in the school, well the waiting area is not huge but with a folded pram there should be space to keep at a corner right? Nevermind my pram is not those $1k+ ones so its ok.

Teacher Rebecca came, greeted us and we went to the classroom run thru the assesment. While my helper tend my #2 at the waiting area.

During the assessment session, as the door of the class has a glass panel, Ms. IC keep popping her head over to see if we are done?

Ghess I’m totally irritated by this. Trying to rush us though? Hey if you are giving the assesment free, why worry we are taking too much time to complete the session? Why not just say the free assessment is limit to 30 mins only?

Teacher Rebecca was kind to hold her a bit and we complete the assessment, I asked her a little how the class will be conducted to help the kids as I do not want a replica of what my gal is already attending at her palyschool. Teacher Rebecca kindly gave us a simple brief of how the class could be conducted. We completed our session hastily, when Ms. IC came and asked if we are done.

We went back to the waiting area and waited to speak so someone on the fees and schedule of the class available. Ms. IC came and went striaght to asking…

Ms. IC: So which day you want to enrol to?

I was like huh? You didn’t even borther to ask how did the assessment went and straight away assume that I’ll enrol my gal? What kind of customer service is there? Nevermind.

Anyway I got the schedule then I asked if I could attend a trial class as offered by the another lady over the phone when i arranged for the assessment.

Ms. IC: uh- Yes! So which day?
Then she said Monday is good because its a new class less students.

I: Ok. But I’m working and I can’t make it at 7.30pm as I knock off about 7pm.

Ms. IC: But its 7.30pm.

I: (Pisssed) Yah I knock off at 7pm and my office is in town, how am i able to make it home to pick my kid up to send her to JE at 7.30pm? I take weekend.

Well I suspect her agenda behind is that weekend class could be packed so she’s pushing us to take weekday class. But hey if we can’t make it how?

Sigh overall I glad the teacher is good but Ms. IC totally lacks EQ/ PR Skills.

From you experince with the school, will the teacher recommend automoatically the child to promote to the next level thru their on-going assessment of the child? Or its only when we ask the school then they’ll do the assessment to promote?

Ms IC really horrible. Cant imagine having to see her every week. But like wat u said, teacher is more impt.

I understand that there will be a term report at the end of each term and perhaps from there, we can judge whether our gals is due for progression…

Hi I have a P3 and a P1. Currently they are with BC and I thought of switching.


I read thru the whole thread and find little feedback on their levels…more on pre-school levels…

Can someone feed back if the programmes from LC benefits their children academically?
