Hi Sunsweet,

Sorry to hear abt your bad experience at JE branch. I just went for assesment 2wks back for my 3.5yo ds and the experience i had is totally opposite from yours. The branch manager who is attending to me is very attentive and explained very carefully to us. during assessment, no one distrupt our time. they built a rapport with my son as to welcome him there. they did not rush me to sign up as i told them i need to discuss with hubby first. I agreed with you, Ms rebecca is a very nice and patience lady. She did the assesment for us too and my son always being the restless one, cudnt keep still. However i am glad amidst all that, he managed to answer most of her qns. However she recommended us to still start off at foundation so that my ds can start from scratch and gain more confidence. in fact she also mentioned that ds will be able to promote to next level quite fast based on his knowledge on phonics.

its been 3 lessons so far and we are very very glad that ds enjoyed his class there. in fact he looked fwd to it every wk, which it a rare sight for us! He is in the thurs evening class with teacher Hope, who is a great teacher too. She knew how to engage the kids in her lessons and make it to such a fun period for them.. She has a good teaching background too.

Come next mth, there will be a change in the branch manager. The current one will be moving over to the new branch in Tampines. I really hope LC will be beneficial for my ds and that he can pick up reading skills and good pronounciation. and importantly, he enjoyed his classes

Are you referring to the Chinese centre manager or the other Filippino lady who usually works in the evening? I brought my kids for assessment last week and I thought both ladies are ok, except that one of them can be a bit pushy at times and is very anxious for us to enrol quickly.

May I suggest merge into 1 common track as like LCentral (Literacy Circle)?

Hi, all Kiatsu friends, is there anyone of you currently in Lcentral Marine Parade?


I am thinking to make a switch there from ICR for my daughter. How’s the teachers there? Anybody have personal experience to share, be it good or bad?

I have read a lot about other centers here, but not much about Marine Parade center. hope to gather more information about this branch.

I particularly concern about teacher’s quality there, I would like to hear from the parents here which teacher is better in simulating kid’s interests for study, and can deliver good result.

And, also would like to ask if anyone would like to refer me? Kindly PM me so that we can be in the win win situation.

For kids who have been attending Literacy Circle for say a few terms, like to check if there is any channel for formal feedback from the teacher or centre administrator about the progress of the child? Mu kids have been in Foundation level since June but so far, no mention of any parent feedback session. Sometimes in Jul, when I ask the centre administrator, she say will arrange one in Aug, but it didn’t materialize….so like to hear some feedback from other parents about their experience on this.
