I especially love children books translated from Japanese authors.

Perhaps can consider 窗边的小豆豆系列（共六册）which translated from Japanese authors. Seems like this book are recommended to P6 students in China. Think of getting for dd to read during this holiday.

Thanks. Hmmmmmm P6 for China students would most likely translate into Sec level for us local.

My kids not yet in P1, will keep this recommendation in my reserved list in DD. I have the English version for this. It's really a beautiful story. It also reminded parents how we should treat our kids. It's because of this story that I enrolled my kids into Montessori kindergarten

I discovered that if I keep titles in my reserved list, DD will inform me via email if there is any reduction in prices for titles

last night I had payment twice. first time was using master card and it shows that the transaction was not sucessfull, did not notice the content before this page. so use citibak card, after payment it shows successful but after that goes to another page which shows that the transaction was not successful.

From my experience, the first email from DD is to notify that they have received the book order and is in process, 2nd email will be that they received the payment, the 3rd email will be to ask you for some information to verify of your credit card details, the 4th email will be that the books have been dispatched. You can also go to your DD account to check the status of your order

I received the payment acknowledgement and the emails asking for information to verify credit cards yesterday but need to wait for refund since I made payment twice. any idea how long does the refund takes and how long they take to dispatch the books? tks.

You might want to check with your mastercard issuing bank if any deduction was made. Previously I used DBS mastercard and Visa and received the message that transaction failed. I checked with DBS on the day and a couple of days later and was told there was no transaction. I double checked with DangDang and confirmed that no payment was made. But when I used my AMEX, there was the transaction successful msg and later the unsuccessful msg. However, later DangDang confirmed receipt of payment via email. So for non Citi bank and AMEX card, you might want to double check if any payment was transacted.

From other parents' experience, it will take 7 - 8 wks to reached Singapore. I'm still waiting for my first delivery.

I think I misread your question about dispatch of books. From my previous purchases, it took 3-5 days for them to process the order, confirm payment received, pick and dispatch the books out of their warehouse/shop.

it's my first time purchasing as well.

yesterday, finally received an email from dangdang that my books are sent out from beijing.

seashell, I had similar "double payment" experience. The refund was done very promptly, the date shown was on the same day or next day, but I only checked my credit card payment after 1-2 weeks. I even had a few cents "gain" due to different exchange rate. I guess it may take a few days to show the refund on your online credit card statement.


As I shared in my earlier posts, the delivery took about 7 to 8 weeks to reach me. We are enjoying the books now. A big thank you to those who shared about dangdang purchase at this forum.

Did you email to dangdang to ask them to refund you ? I don’t think they refund you automatically.

i mention to them during payment acknowledgement. Their reply was "支付的款项会在订单处理后，退回到您的原支付卡中". not sure when will that be done. btw, I’m able to make payment via uob master card after checking my online statement yesterday, as for the citibank need to wait for DH to verify.
